GoDaddy has released a list of twenty domain sales that it facilitated in January 2021. The domain sales list was led by the $390,560 sale of Steam.com alongside five more sales at $100,000 or more.
The sale of Steam.com for $390,560 has caused a stir among domain investors as many were surprised that the name wasn't sold to Valve, a gaming company that operates the Steam gaming marketplace at SteamPowered.com. Instead, Steam.com seems to have headed to China.

We're now into July 2021, which means that we have entered the second half of the year. Such a milestone is a perfect opportunity to reflect on the first half of 2021 and plan for the rest of the year.
In this discussion, domain investors are asked to describe the first half of their 2021 in one line. So far, most responses seem to portray a solid sales record with some optimism for the coming six months. Would you agree with that?

What's the Biggest Favor Someone Has Done for the Domain Industry?
It's fair to say that the domain name industry is relatively small. It's rare that the industry gets mainstream coverage, but sometimes a significant domain sale makes the headlines, or a company such as GoDaddy creates a bit domain name marketing campaign.
Here, an interesting question is being posed. What is the biggest favor that someone has done for the domain name industry? Responses so far include the Squarespace Super Bowl commercial entitled "Get Your Domain Before It's Gone."

Legendary domain name investor Rick Schwartz has a prestigious sales record, closing many of his own seven-figure sales.
Now, though, Schwartz has announced that he will launch his own domain brokerage company, offering his negotiating and valuation skills to a wider audience. Domain investors are reacting to that news here.

Is It Pointless to Outbound in Summer?
It has been established that for some domain names, outbound marketing can be a productive means of creating cash flow from domain sales without waiting for buyers to come to you.
With it now being July, many founders, entrepreneurs and C-level executives in Europe and the US are taking vacations. Does that mean that this is a bad time of the year to perform outbound sales?
