Why corporate treasurers think Richard Schwartz's domains are gold and your domains are shit?

This is I think what is happening.

Very few major corporations will buy a domain just to buy it. They are not domain investors. They buy a name either to upgrade a current name or because they have a business idea for it.

If they will buy a domain just because they like it, the chances of getting top dollar is very low. You are in the best position when they really NEED the domain.

CNN purchased ireport because they had a project. You could email them about report .com or NewsReport .com and I doubt they will reply unless maybe if its priced real low.

Domainers make the most money in inbound because someone feels they NEED the domain.

A good example is with paintings. Imagine you need two paintings for your office to hang on the walls. Once you are happy with the paintings you got you will ignore emails trying to sell you paintings because you have no need for them and you are not a collector. Obviously if someone emails you something you really like and the price is really low, maybe you will buy it, just like you would buy a smartphone if the price is extremely low even if you have one already.

Domaining is a waiting game. List the names, forget about them and go on with your life. If you find a good deal buy the name, but expect to wait for a long time for someone that happens to need your exact name AND has money.

Look at the completed sales page and the 6-7 figure name sales on dnj/namebio. These owners waited a long time.

If you mean that you register a domain and do nothing else, you're right. It is a waiting game in the sense of who is more motivated, the seller or the buyer. It can be months between the initial offer and getting the price you are happy with. But it all depends on your pricing. There is pricing to move domains quickly and then there is premium pricing. There are many strategies to domain sales.

Why are all these brokers make the consistent sales?

https://dnjournal.com/ytd-sales-charts.htm

Excellent question. The quick answer is hard work and reputation. To start, they have built a professional website for interested parties. They have built a network of qualified leads. They do it full time. They are dedicated. They sell high quality domains. Hope this answer helps.

Definitely, LatestNews.com is a good name.
But what you reply me back If I ask you, I have a property for sale at India, when you are looking for a property in US?

You are looking for a property and I am asking about a property.

What is the point of this thread?

Rick owns many quality domains and doesn't need to sell any.
That is a good formula to make great sales.

He is in a strong position when it comes to negotiation.

He has been doing this for 25+ years.

If I had Rick's vision when I started working online I would have a multi 7 digit portfolio today. His prior experience in sales has served him well. Today it is a game of margins in most cases. What Rick does well is that he mixes cash with partnerships. There are a number of options when it comes to high end domains. Your best position is where you don't need the money but any sales only adds to your retirement fund.

Many are trying to repeat the successes of the early domaining pioneers. Such as embracing crypto currency. What they fail to appreciate is that when the Internet and domains became commercially available the technology was 30 years since invention. Well established.

I haven't sold as many as I would like either but I fail to see the benefit of ranting about conspiracies. However do whatever makes you happy. Free country.

CNN wasted 750K on a domain they no longer need because they have a deep pocket. It was a pet project to satisfy the ego of someone in upper position. Ideal buyer. The domain is much better than LatestNews.com. It is mind boggling why CNN is not even redirecting it. Must be chump change for them.

In the old days .coms heavily trafficked then ppc parking came along

Why are all these brokers make the consistent sales?

Most likely because they're doing a lot more outbound marketing and contacting potential end users. Many "domainers" promote their domain on marketplaces where there are mostly other domainers who want wholesale prices. Many $x,xxx and $xx,xxx domain sales are bought by businesses/groups who have never heard of sites like Sedo or NP's.

One thing is Rick hasn't actually reported a load of sales i mean their are some big numbers talked about with some names but i expected a lot more volume reported. All about best name to suit on the day. Both names have great merit. After they spend 750k is there much left over for spending spree.

Rick hasn't been able to sell 99.94% of his portfolio. Not because of lack of interest, but because offers not matching his price range.
If such an early adopter, with such quality portfolio has had such a loong waiting game, how can the OP say domaining is not a waiting game?
Even if you have the highest ever quality names, you may have to wait years.
