Anybody knows of a platform that uses cryptocurrency to trade domain names?

If domain names could be traded in cryptocurrency, would you?
What do you think?

DAN accommodates Bitcoin. If you have long-term holdings, can be convenient

Personally, I wouldn't be so thrilled getting a payment in Bitcoin specifically, given the circumstance. I would want stability in a coin such as USDC (Coinbase Coin). The reason being the fees in Bitcoin suck, often times delays occur. The volatility is another thing, once it has reached me I may have lost 10 - 15% (doesn't matter so much if you're a long-term holder) ...the "day to day" domaining, can harm that convenience factor

I was thinking about this as I prefer payment in Crypto but am not sure if the number of potential buyers will drop. DAN has payment in crypto or fiat but it would be great if both options would be available simultaneously

I guess you are asking if domains can be priced in crypto. E.g 10 BTC BIN for example.com or make offer in crypto.

As far as know, none of the marketplaces are currently offering it. You can only set price in fiat and landing pages are always in fiat. I was looking for this option for myself too.
At Epik/DAN, buyers can pay in crypto if they want to and seller can also request payments in crypto but these platforms still don't let you set BIN or make offer in crypto. I guess it shouldn't be too difficult for marketplaces to implement it because they don't need to factor in the Fiat/Crypto rates. It would be nice to price crypto related domains in BTC/ETH.

Cryptocurrencies do have an element of instability
But for the people who hold it, they can quickly cash it out, somebody like me:xf.cry:

How about dogecoin?

The meme coin is cute, but insecure. The CEO of Tesla likes it and has given it a push, but he's trolling ...people like their Doge bag being pumped

AAVE, Yearn, Chainlink, Cardano, Monero (bit better)

Future is masternode coins tech imo "full nodes" which allow MULTI instead of only 1:1 opportunity cost

No, I wouldn't trade domains using crypto because I don't use it.

I have no issue with crypto being a payment option, but keep it simple and continue offering buyers traditional forms of payment.

In summary: Unless you're holding long, you don't want crypto (exception: stablecoin). You don't want noticeable percentages less (or more, gamble) than what you agreed on

want to quickly monetize your cryptocurrency or you want your currency to hold its value
  • I think it is a good choice to buy domain name
  • But I didn't find a suitable trading platform
  • Best regards

I agree with the volatility of the crypto but I would prefer to have the option to price the domain name in crypto and show the price on the landing page. I feel that crypto related traditional domains can be sold for more if they are priced in crypto. Look at all the NFTs and even unstoppable domains going for high prices. Domains are like the original NFTs.
It's a must to continue offering traditional payment options for buyer to let them decide if they want to pay in crypto or using traditional payment methods. I would infact price all my non-crypto related names in EUR (At least DAN and sedo allows you). I have noticed that I tend to get higher price because of the conversation rate. e.g a buyer would see 499 Eur and psycologically have similar effect to seeing the price in 499 USD. I get 20% extra compared to what it would have been if the domain was priced in USD and european buyers would prefer seeing eur anyways. I think or at least want to test if this can be replicated for crypto related domains. I would be much comfortable in setting 1BTC bin than 30000 USD or whatever the current price and keep on changing it to match it with 1BTC price range to attract buyers. Buyers with crypto holding might be happy to pay in crypto but also have the option to pay in equivalent Fiat if they prefer.

In summary: Showing BIN/Make offer in crypto might help crypto related names sell for higher, IMO. Keep other things as it is. Like the buyers and sellers still have options to decide if they want to pay and get paid in crypto or fiat.

Ok, all good.

This is a bit off-topic, but I'm finding your use of bullet-points to be a bit confusing.

You might like to refrain from using them too much in your replies.

They are usually reserved for lists or to draw attention to important information within a document so that a reader can identify the key issues and facts quickly.

Anyway, just my opinion.

Best regards ;)

As far as I know, Dan offers the option to pay domain owners on Crypto, only BTC. I've received BTC payments for domains sales via Dan.

On the other hand, Epik offers bother buying and selling of domain names using Crypto options. They have more than one Crypto option. You can even price your high value domain name on BTC at Epik if I'm not mistaken. I think they offer more flexibility.
