SMART CONTRACTS AND DLT:

Smart contracts and DLT are often talked of in the same breath but are distinct technologies – albeit complementary and, in some instances, symbiotically linked13. However, the advent of DLT has created a platform on which smart contracts can be hosted and executed. This has brought smart contract concepts into the mainstream. One of the most powerful inter-relationships between smart contracts and DLT can be seen in answer to the following question: computers that can automatically execute code have been around for ages, so why haven’t smart contracts been previously developed? It is true that the automation of certain elements of existing legal contracts has been feasible for some time. Since the advent of computers in a mainstream context, it would have been perfectly possible (at least technically) for contracting parties to program a computer to automatically execute an event, such as a payment under a contract upon satisfaction of pre-defined conditions (for example, that a stock price hits a pre-defined price).

I had and dropped about 50 DLT domains... Doesn't look like this term is picking up as a brandable terminology and its use in general is lessening by the year, in favor of "blockchain". I only kept a handful. Good luck if you stick with this keyword. It's now like MR compared to AR. Everyone is just calling it either AR or XR as MR has fallen out of favor.

Nah...DLT is the future.

Blockchain is just one aspect of DLT.

I agree with you 100%, but I was mainly talking about its success as a brandable terminology in domain sales. There are other terminologies that are even more commonly used but have failed to catch on as brand words, which affects how well they sell in domains, like IOT and SaaS for example.

DLT as a tech is obviously the future but this is a domain sales forum, not a tech forum...

It's worth noting that there is a particular usage trend for the term DLT. Only certain kinds of companies and industry people use it. There are other newer terms that overlap with this area of usage that are kind of superseding "DLT" in a way, not by definition but simply as an preferred choice of words. Terminologies are dynamic they evolve with industries' evolution. I've learned to accept these evolutions and drop domains accordingly, instead of clinging on with faith. No keyword is immune to falling out of popularity or becoming obsolete. Shit happens lol.... You pick up your face and keep moving. Thats not to say there won't be a micro handful of DLT sales in the future. I'm still holding on to 5 anyway.
