Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant for example all major online stores don't have the word "buy" in them, amazon ebay... they all use brand names. so is using a brandname better than saying for example buythings.com

Go to NameBio and search with buy as keyword and you will see top 100 public buy sales over the years from $95,000 for BuyBuy.com sold last year to $4,588 for CrystalBuy.com also sold last year

360buy.com (now JD.com) is an ecommerce store owned by Jingdong who are worth over 100 billion USD.

I'm not sure what the actual domain name is worth now, but I imagine it would still fetch tens of millions if sold.

wwwulff really has it! Namebio is king for comps but has its critics like all of the comp sites do. No place is perfect, nor should we expect perfection, I suppose!

Yes and No - depending on what comes before or/and after buy.

I agree with Josytal it depends, the word is valuable if the name makes sense or is brandable. However if it's something random like murderbuy or dogfuckbuy it will be worthless.

I sure like them if they begin with 'buy' and and with a highly searched commercial interest product or service.

Probably one of the best “call to action” words?

I myself not a fan since many “Buy” substitutes great word, dont get me wrong just not 1 of kind

Even Buy.com is now Rakuten :xf.eek:

Look at how much 360.com sold for ($17M)

Buy360 /360Buy would be lucky fetch $1m imo

As a new virgin domain yes I agree, but it was one of, if not the largest online shop for a number of years and that has to be worth something.

When I made that statement, I was thinking about what would happen if Amazon or Ebay rebranded and then attempted to resell the domain names in five years. What would you pay for the domain name Amazon or Ebay in 5 years time after it rebranded?

All depends on the keywords, and their commercial value

They do alright, I don't prefer them personally.

I've got Buy Rhodium in king. Rhodium = 10 x more valuable than gold.

You should test forwarding the domain name to an affiliate lander of a precious metals exchange like Kitco or other to see how well the traffic converts and collect commission$.
