If the G7 has it's way, "sleds" like cars will all be taxed to the point middle class will be unable to afford them. They want Canada and USA to be mirrors of the EU.

No doubt we have different ideas about what freedom is, just like we have different ideas. For instance, I just sold my sled for $XX XXX cash, no receipt needed, why? Trust. Also, the buyer doesn't need to register or have a permit to drive, so there's no government tax, no license needed, no safety course (not even a helmet) is required, nor insurance for that matter. Why? Trust. Nobody is going to steal it and people use common sense when driving. And since everything is covered in snow in the winter, you can go anywhere, travel 1000 miles in any direction without worrying about speeding tickets etc. Hell, my sled does 0-100kph in 2 seconds :woot: and tops out at 100mph! Try that down south (not on a race track)

@sonatime You keep posting this...you must enjoy that view

what a vulgar clownshow, espouses personal freedom for himself but shills every MSM smear and leftist totalitarian intervention all day every day. Classic commie mindset, rules for thee but not for me.

Dumbass is cheerleading for the crowd that want to implement global taxes. Once that starts, it's over.

Somebody asked me awhile ago why I keep hanging around taking all the trump-style slander and abuse, especially when many others have departed and the thread has turned into mostly a right-wing echo chamber. I guess they just gave up on you... I've learned to have patience with people. I don't mind being corrected, and I'm not butthurt about being wrong. Afterall, life is all about learning and if you don't have an open mind, there is no reception. Maybe, just maybe some will find more truth in their lives and help make this world a better place. It ain't easy being green :xf.grin:

People like JB and Lennco gave up because Trump isn't around to inspire their hatred and Biden is too bad to inspire their support.

You're still arguing because you took offense to me pointing out your source is a ex-felon who makes a living saying outrageous things on the radio and Internet.

You started this discussion by quoting John Dean, a convicted felon and never Trumper saying collecting phone records of congress was unprecedented.

I proved it wasn't unprecedented and sighted examples of all types of bad behavior by the Gov.

Now your attacking Barr on another matter in order to discredit him?? What does that have to do with John Dean being a Never Trump grifter ??

Conjecture.
Trump brought in Barr because Barr had already made up his mind about whether Trump could be indicted for obstructing justice, and he pushed to justify that conclusion and lied in that regard.

Trump hired Barr because he believed him to be a strong conservative that would not be manipulated by the media, unlike Jeff Sessions. Trump was right.

"Judge Amy Berman Jackson says the (Trump) DOJ lied to her by saying it was predecisional when the decision had already been made," Savage explained. "When DOJ grudgingly showed her the memo, she saw that it was about actually strategy and arguments for (former Attorney General) Barr to quash the idea, which he had already decided to do — not predecisional as DOJ had told her in a sworn affidavit."

https://www.alternet.org/2021/05/trump-doj/

You're quoting a Never Trump judge and sighting another dubious Never Trump source, the NY Times.

The NYT has been the source of many "debunked" stories about the Trump administration.

The NYT also published the 1619 project, a fictional rewrite of American history as factual.

Why should we trust the analysis of a Never Trump reporter?

BTW, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her entire staff got "predecisional" immunity after a meeting between Bill Clinton and AG Lynch.

Barr finally stepped down...if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen

Thank you, @sonatime for bringing up the Dunning-Kruger effect. It probably explains why rational thinkers can argue the facts with logic and science until blue in the face and why the Trump cult cannot be swayed. They lack the metacognitive ability to “objectively evaluate their competence or incompetence.” They are unable to doubt their own misperceptions.

“Desires for material things have limits - most people really only want or need one dishwasher, or one or two cars - but desire for emotional needs like status, love, acceptance and autonomy are bottomless. Tying material goods to nonmaterial desires ensures people are never satisfied with what they have. It’s how we’ve convinced some of the most materially rich citizens in history that they don’t have enough.”

Get off the hamster wheel, folks! :xf.wink:

Speaking of bad apples...

John Dean calls Trump DOJ's secret seizures of Democrats' smartphone records 'beyond' what his boss ever did: 'It's Nixon on stilts and steroids'

'In combination with former President Trump's unmistakable vendetta against Congressman Schiff, it raises serious questions about whether the manner in which this investigation was conducted was influenced by political considerations rather than purely legal ones.'

'This is about everyday Americans who don't want to see their government weaponize law enforcement against them because of their political beliefs,' said Swallwell.

Schiff and his fellow representative Eric Swalwell had data from their Apple devices seized and analysed as part of a probe. Prosecutors also subpoenaed records from news reporters at The Washington Post, The New York Times and CNN in an attempt to identify their confidential sources, which also remained secret until the Justice Department recently disclosed them.

The revelations show the extent of Trump's obsession over leaks and the extraordinary lengths his administration would go through to investigate them.

FYI:

Friends and allies of a federal prosecutor tapped last year to dig into a series of leak cases are pushing back against perceptions that he was a pro-Trump crony brought in to try to pin leaks on Democratic members of Congress.

Paul Fishman, the Obama-appointed U.S. attorney who hired Benvenuto back in 2012, said he was startled by language in a New York Times story Thursday that suggested Benvenuto — better known as Oz — was part of “a small circle of trusted aides” around Barr.

How do you like them British Conservative apples? At least they have some talking points instead of tension and pouting like at former G7 (better yet G6.5, lol)

1200.jpg

1) This still picture is taken out of context. This was not a contentious meeting - per Merkel.

2) There is not "tension" around Joe Biden because he is not asking anything from England or the EU and is essentially agreeing with them. Trump put America first and believed those policies were best. ( He was right ).

Same guy who was just bragging about selling a snowmobile for xx,xxx ??

For you a snowobile is just a toy. For me, it the main means of transportation and also a way to put food on the table. I prefer to have a dependable vehicle when I go out hunting, otherwise I may become the prey or freeze at -40* if it breaks down. It's not like I can just call AAA.

I just fed a bear with some of the remains of a recent kill. He dragged it into the bush, when all of a sudden he was attacked by a timber wolf who stole the carrion from him and got himself a prize. Now do you think I want to be the next meal? Gotta have some 'giddy up 'n go'. You probably see a mosquito and go hide in your tent.

Don't know what this has to do with being charitable and caring for the enviroment.

Conservation means living within the limits so all creatures can benefit from our practices now and into the future. ie. don't take more than you need and give back. I'm not talking about charity, but the cycle of life and survival of the fittest. Even apex carnivores are not immune, in fact they are most suseptible. Do I need to explain everything to you?

You know I visited Oregon (Multnomah Falls), it's a good place for a picnic. :xf.wink:

Where in Canada to Live for U.S. Citizens Post Election

Canada has a long history of welcoming U.S. citizens when things are unsavory or dangerous at home. Beginning with the United Empire Loyalists who came to Canada to escape the Revolutionary War, through to the African Americans who reached freedom via the Underground Railroad and the Vietnam War draft dodgers, Americans have looked to Canada as a sanctuary in the wings during times of political turmoil.

Canada is frequently suggested as a non-American utopia post-election. Every four years, almost half of all Americans grow disgruntled and threaten to leave the country for greener political pastures after a disappointing election.

American presidential races often follow contentious battles between candidates with wildly divergent ideologies that raise tensions between citizens. To escape that environment or avoid upcoming legislation, Americans who supported losing candidates discuss expatriation to English-speaking countries like Australia, the U.K., or Canada.

In an example that shocked pundits, pollsters, and media worldwide, Donald Trump won the 2016 election. Americans researched a move in sufficient number to crash the Canadian immigration website late on election night. Searches for flights to Canada spiked by nearly six times!

That was then, this is now. Canada is part of the US war, spy and financial domination apparatus. They squeak a lot about not being Americans, but the country is an identical twin in all the ways that matter. They have total access to US records on Americans, and vice-versa. The are in lock-step with the US. Unlike the Vietnam draft dodgers, who were even greeted with free land in some cases, any refugee from the US today will be returned immediately by Canada. And for this lucky enough to be allowed to stay, they haven't escaped at all. America still pretty much owns them until the are able to complete the long and expensive process of renouncing.

I get a kick out people who talk of leaving the US as though it's some great sacrifice on their part - it shows that they too have bought the propaganda.

Canadians are just Americans with funny accents, greater love of the State and less humor. That's why some of the best comedians in America come from Canada. They grow up with a tough audience.

LOL, you think? Since when did we ever use the term state? Look @sonatime he's a classic example of the US propaganda machine product in Canada (he'll buy whatever you're trying to sell). We sure don't get all nationalistic, but we love our women, our hockey, our nature and back bacon, lol. We export our comdians to US as a secret weapon against arrogance, mainly because we've learned not to take ourselves too seriously and are more laid back. Cannucks have more of a sense of humour (spelled o-u-r) because our winters are longer and we need to keep our spirits up. :xf.grin:

The other stuff you mentioned like
They squeak a lot about not being Americans, but the country is an identical twin in all the ways that matter.
We're North American, but in general, a kinder and more honest lot...so what's your problem with that? :xf.confused:

Sweden's violent crime surge could be linked to 'extreme' immigration policies

And yet, the Left wing parties in Sweden keep getting voted in by TOO many brainwashed liberal and PC people that keep denying the obvious... that their once beautiful and peaceful country has willingly become a dumping ground for millions of illegal & incompatible people coming from shithole countries with strange cultures...

hey smear job, when you are thinking don't include my name. You exist in the enormous gap of high narcissistic self-evaluation and reality and that is pretty much exactly what I expect from someone who for better part of life was on dependent on alcohol and now chronically lists off delusional glory days exploits to make up for that.
