Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

Thank you @alcy. I must say I'm pretty far from being a firm believer the Metaverse thing will play out. But yep, could be worth a shot :).

Honest opinion, not much, if anything.

There's only ever been 46 reported .one sales and when you think of all the words in the english lanaguage (highly premium words included) it's not much and 'Metaverse' is not a universally used word in the English language.

One thing you can compare this to is the Meta dot one sale for $4550, but i think you'd be very lucky to get a 4 figure sale.

tnx..trust me good .one names can fetch good money...but sales are more rare..
meta.,.one sale was me.. good name..would have fetched more in future..had many offrs on it.

i asked about metaverse cause I'm sitting on 20k gd offr on it.. but I think it has 50k potential in future... so I'm trying to split it at 35k to sell now

it's still whopping 20%.sale fee on gd..so it's not negligable

$20k? I'd snatch their hands off for it, i certainly wouldn't be posting about it on here, i'd have it in Escrow before they change their mind, but good luck what ever you decide.

metaverse is the future.. there was a reason someone paid 175k for io.

I doubt u would say the io is worth this much..same as u say about .one being at most 4fig name.

the truth is..the .one version will be worth 50k minimum in few years
..so im debating this offer.

u make it sound like buyers who pay this money do not know what they are doing. u talk about changing their mind etc like they are ordering pizza and want to change salami for pepperoni.. usually they know better than us. big companies or what not... smart folk for sure

let me guess to u probably the io version of this name is worth max 10k..true?

Are you asking people on NamePros their opinions on the domains worth or 'telling' people what it's worth?

*Re-reads your message at 7.22am*
, you said (and i quote) "what do u guys think" ie:- you are asking for an opinion, I've spent time giving you my opinion and you clearly don't like my opinion, hence your rant 'telling' me what it's worth, so why ask for opinions when you clearly don't want to hear opinions?

MetaverseOne dot com appears to be in development. Depending on what it will be, it could affect any sale prospects of Metaverse dot one. I'd play it safe and take the $20k

of course I'm asking for opinions.. then I'm discussing opinions. I think yer missing the point if u think someone cant discuss or disagree with yer opinion..;)

With all due respect, it seems to me that the expected extent of the 'metaverse' word adoption is exaggerated. There are still too many unknowns, including that there's still no consistent opinion across the web what the 'metaverse' is, this is still something very abstract and geekish in the minds. Just IMHO...

P.S. That still doesn't mean it cannot sell that high in some other extension though, the market is unpredictable...

20k sounds good to me. Now days, there are plenty of new projects that neglect the .com
Specially the tech, crypto, decentralized... Actually, that is what it is all about in my opinion.

You have all these younger generations, all digital native, that from their phones or tables they rarely do use internet per se. They almost live in their apps. And the browser they use, are the ones from the own app that just takes them to the link given in the application they were using, so not much importance if it takes them to .com or dot whatever.

They really don´t care if it is a dot com or not. Actually it makes plenty of more sense to go to Metaverse(.)one than to Metaverseone.com
If you think strictly about the idea of the metaverse (or as i think it "is"), it is not only one world, but loads of them, that can interconnect, so having the domain name Metaverse(one) is like being the number one.

Also, for me, the contribution of the movie Ready Player ONE for the general public knowledge of the metarverse, is an small added plus to the name.

As NameFu mentioned, the .com seems to be in development. Find out who they are, who is behind the project, if they have any founding and so. That could help you set a price.

Nevetheless 20k sounds good to me.

Sotheby’s Opens Virtual Replica of Its London Galleries in Decentraland

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.coindesk.com/sothebys-opens-virtual-replica-london-galleries-decentraland?amp=1

I posted the below back in March in the NFT thread.....

So much potential when you start looking at all the different angles - I had that thought last night (APAC afternoon) midway through a phone with someone from a big company who are involved in logistics of all things :xf.smile:

If I was in the conventional art world - gallery owner, dealer, auction house etc etc I would be getting out my contact book and start making some calls

It's one thing selling original digital art, it's another leasing or selling digitised masterpiece's

You can set up a digital gallery for previous unseen works. lease the NFT's to a metaverse type of site/company who can then charge people to enter the gallery, have a virtual reality tour or a mixture of the two or you can set one up yourself OR you can lease/sell the NFT to people who own metaverse property and they can hang it in on their virtual walls

Or you can just sell the NFT outright - either via a physical auction house or even better through the metaverse version of your company - virtual/meta Christies

Pretty sure there is a huge amount of money in this - and it is only one area

For those of you using DAN landers, are crawlers, bots etc. excluded from number of visitors you see in your Analytics page?

One of my domains experienced quite big traffic increase (30 from 3 daily visitors) without me listing or mentioning it anywhere (Twitter, telegram) recently

I don't have it so not sure how I would react but I understand the dilemma.

ah ok that's what u implied lol
that u understand the dilemma.. thanks.. just wanted make sure cause yer cool smart dude and I always enjoy hearing views of cool smart dudes..

well maybe if sales were going better lately for me I'd hang on to it... but it's been extra quiet past couple months...during which time I also declined 22k on decentralized.,.,finance.,..,io

frankly as much as I like this one here I sent to auction..I prefer the io above. if I had to keep one.

I know many refer to the 175k io sale as ref point..but maybe that's exaggerated... frankly.if reseller bought it..which is so I hear..then imo it wont be easy resale for profit.

the io did sell for just 2k in 2020 i think.. now that's definitely great buy. for 2020 especially

It's a dot one... Comparing how things went with the dot io like comparing a dot com sale with what you'd hope for with a dot info (loose analogy). The science isn't exactly the same...
