One of my first investments in "something" financial ...one of them was quite probably cryptocurrency (I bought some Bitcoin in 2011), I was 20 at the time. Heard about this thing called Bitcoin when I heard you could buy drugs on the dark net with it, pretty much ...and no, I didn't buy a bag of drugs for it to be delivered through my letter box (quick disclaimer) ...the original Silk Road days with Dread Pirate Roberts, which was also launched in 2011

I sold a bunch, didn't hold long ...used some gains from crypto to buy domains. I've dabbled in commodities in my mid 20s ...arbitrage. I play with things, I'm now 30 and I still play

@DuDD In early Bitcoin days, it doesn't really matter how much you bought ...its how long did you hold - I didn't hold long. The market tanked in 2012, sold a good portion

My holdings today include "the gold", being Bitcoin ...but in reality, I am not a fan of Bitcoin, at all. I'd be happier seeing Ethereum overtake it. This likely won't happen, due to the strength / recognisability that Bitcoin has, being the "first" (its the one people know about most, and the market responds to the movement of Bitcoin, generally. If Bitcoin goes up in price, Alts go up too)

Very sorry to hear that. There are a lot of lost coins out there ...people have lost absolute fortunes (even to the tune of hundreds of millions, in some cases, by value today) ...people simply forgetting about it, then discovering its gone up considerably

I do remember how it was sent over a conversation on icq and remember my icq number if there was a way of getting history i would stand a chance but we are talking 20 years ago.

@lock I wouldn't be qualified in commenting on what to do with that. What I would say is talk to some specialists in recovery, doing something to that nature ...might be worth investigating

I started investing when I was 17 (Or 16, I am not sure). Used a trading account under my dad's name until I turned 18.

2015, 6 years ago, I'm 39 now so i guess i would have been 33.

I wish i started earlier, i got my first computer Christmas 1999 when i was 17. I never even thought about domains to be honest, what got me into them was the potential of VR, thought it was the next big thing and i wanted to get involved in it in some way, domains was a way for me doing that.

Made some mistakes doing that (like everyone at first), but introduced to me into the potenital of other markets in domains (namely single word .com's) and now have an interest in those.

I think I started to invest when I was about 7 or 8 - when I found out where my parents hide the money.
I stopped investing when they found out I took the money from them.

@johnn And now you're selling domain names to pay them back

This is fantastic. Nice job!

For domains, I buy my first lll .com when I was 27

For Chinese coins, I buy my first gold unicorn at 19.

No,

Now I hide my money to see if my son/daughter or my grand kids can find it.

  • Bitcoin hasn't been doing well lately:xf.cry:
  • I believe that keeping an investment heart and it will pay off in the end
