Is there a tool you have been searching for that does not currently exist that would help you be a better domain investor?

There used to be some desktop software that worked for Mac osx that would bulk lookup domain availability based off of patterns e.g

LVLVL.com

You could create rules that would output regex to omit certain letters too etc.

Hmm. It is probably something I have not even thought of.

It would be some type of tool that helps with domain acquisition though.

A platform where End-users with various professional backgrounds will think along with the domainer about the most promising names and developments in their field. These sparring partners get paid for their contributions and may eventually share profit from new initiatives based on the best domain name for a given, well-defined business, purpose or project.

an ai based bulk look up tool that ranks available domains by similar developed sites (% scale of similarity), extensions taken, how many times mentioned in the news, papers, journals (number based with a breakdown of links) etc and maybe some other metrics....

Would be pretty cool for new niches, trends, tech domains etc etc etc

Domaining Coin. Usable as a payout method on all marketplaces, parking companies, with domainer-2-domainer transactions, should be also good for expired purchases on dropcatch etc. as well as accepted by all domainer-friendly registrars for renewals etc. The questions to be answered are how it can be converted to fiat money and vice versa, should it be decentralised (crypto) and, if so, how "anonymous" should it be (bitcoin way --> less anonymous, alt coins way --> more anonymous).
The fantasy indeed, as GoDaddy/Afternic definitely would not bother to accept it (or to payout on auctions / afternic), and, without GoDaddy, it would be almost useless.

Why? Paypal is not universal (has country-based limitations and is not perfect in any case), Bitcoin is the closest - but not all registrars accept it, NameSilo marketplace stopped using it for payouts, Sedo/Afternic did not even start, etc...

P.S. Just, in case, DomainingCoin.com is available at the time of this writing ;)

A true domain white label where you can adverise own names as well as handpick from lists. The ability to advertise a domain and get a spotters fee for anyone that advertises it. Affiliates list own names handpick along with a generic list of paid advertisng and if click resulted in a sale member is rewarded. This platform should also allow 2nd tier for webmaster referral. This may allow use of marketplace domains which are parked to be active and get paid for similar keywords and new domain registrations. Turn domain parking industry into income for all.

A tool that shows domains taken in other extensions but not taken in .com (and the .com is available)

Coincidently, I reg'd Namespacex.com the day before this post with such a concept in mind.

Consider a NamespaceXchange (Mission Control) platform where market data trajectories for a given namespace are compiled and presented with the goal of creating a roadmap strategy of how to best develop and service a namespace for related markets, industry associations, supply chain stakeholders, etc., by combining the best digital assets, talent, biz resources, etc., on launches to insure 'mission success' and optimal economic opportunities in the future within a market or industry's namespace.

In short, build & launch domains in cyberspace like Musk builds and launches rockets into outer-space.

Lol. That only happens if the other extension is a cctld like .co.uk

Liquidity - could be a feature of existing platforms but to have the ability to quickly convert a domain into cash even if the selling price were a bit below an ideal sales price. The system would have to allow open bids from buyers with the liquidity to back them even though the probability of that bid being filled might be low. For example, perhaps a target price might be $799 but someone willing to pay $275 might yield a sale if the seller were in need of short-term funds and decided to accept this open offer. Because domain transfers and payments can be delayed there would need to some means of speeding up these processes as the primary motive of a accepting an offer well below a desired target price would be short-term liquidity.

Yes, I'm working on it and for me it already exists.

I have a much longer answer but I'm not sure I can post it here without getting into trouble because it would likely be considered self promotion :)

I've actually been thinking deeply about domain tools for a very long time probably over 10 years...

You can give a hint and hide the important part.

Domain Search Engine

A service like Google.com for domain names: where every end user would go if they wanted to buy or register a new domain name and search like they do in Google (i.e. not just the keywords, but what kind of domain they are looking for and for what purpose). Then the service would show them the available results based on Domain SEO (Domainer generated content where each Domainer explained why this is the best domain the searcher wants within their budget) :xf.grin:

P.S. something like a unified marketplace, but much much more that that.

What I'd like in a domain investing tool.

I'd like a tool to be different from everything else available. It needs to do more, to push past the basic features and be clearly innovative.

I'd really like a new way to come up with domains that is unique and makes using the tool so much more enjoyable. A tool that combines all the features I want into a system that makes sense and that takes care of all the details without me having to mess with everything all the time.

I want this tool to stand out with features that work well and that I enjoy using. I want to keep using this tool because it clearly gives me better results AND is fun to use.

This obviously means it must increase my sales and profits but also that it must make my life a whole lot easier.

For example, I want it to be super easy to brainstorm name ideas from an almost endless supply of current source material. I want it to be extremely easy to find new domain ideas and to categorize and track the results given.

I want this tool to also quickly locate any domain in my portfolio and to get precise details about any of them anytime I want using advanced search criteria.

I want it to be able to search multiple terms and conditions at the same time just like what is given in the Request Domains section.

And finally, I want a tool to easily present any of my domains in a visually appealing way and to be able to post it on different platforms. That means anytime I want to promote or showcase a domain, I can generate a promotional for it.

The promotional should be customizable from templates that I can use to generate nice looking domain images or logos as well as the matching display code which I can then paste anywhere needed.

Maybe someday this tool will be available, I really hope it's soon.
