Am I the only one that feels the numbers and values are looking suspicious. Given xyz history with using smokes and mirrors to market the name space I am a bit sceptical but can be convinced otherwise.
What is your gut feel? Last 2 weeks sales from same person Swetha DNGear
beacon.xyz $24,888
Genisis.xyz $21,399
Patron.xyz $9,888
Protocol.xyz $8,000
Split.xyz $7,888

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
@ThatNameGuy .world feels nicer than .online.
.online .company is really bad btw

lol Mugford and friends. Namebio is one of my resources too, but there's a HUGE difference between so called reported sales of .xyz and .online. As a former licensed private investigator, i've been researching (one might say investigating) the reported sales by DNGear from the last year. Very few of the .xyz sales actually lead to a legitimate website/business.....you can check for yourself. As for .online, I've yet to start my sales campaign but when I ask potential "end users" and peers, if you were to start a business "online" and the .com wasn't available, would you choose Booking.online or Booking.xyz? Don't believe me Brad, overwhelmingly they chose Booking.online...try it yourself Brad, record the results and share it with us.

Good Luck☺

Thanks for the support. I was about to say maybe equating what we're all doing to a pyramid scheme was unfair and perhaps "house of cards" would be better. Just out of curiosity I peruse the wikipedia page for house of cards and I get... "A house of cards (also known as a card tower or a card castle) is a structure created by stacking playing cards on top of each other, often in the shape of a pyramid." Hah!

I do believe that for those of us that are at all tech savvy, having a .com is a big deal. I'm planning to go to Savannah, Georgia soon and my wife and I are planning to take a ghost tour with some friends. I joked because the company uses an AOL e-mail address.

I've seen small businesses and self-employed people using subdomains on Wix websites and that seems unprofessional to me.

I've never really heard my less savvy friends complain about things like that though.

The other day I was driving through St. Petersburg, FL and I saw a sign outside of a landscaping business with the address Allseasons.Name and I thought, "there's gotta be a better TLD for them than that (Allseasons is taken in 93 extensions) but I think if the average person can figure out how to type in .com or .net, they can manage .name.
Sorry i hadn't gotten back to you Nicholas....i've been busy looking for Ghost Tours Online but have yet to find one. You'll enjoy the Savannah tour....my wife and I went on it 30 years ago.

Also, i've been meaning to reach out to you but haven't had time. Take care and maybe we can help each other, My Mantra; "Make Something Happen"☺

I personally wouldn't touch an XYZ extension but still happy for her. I don't have the risk appetite to go after domain extensions that feel so much like a shot in the dark.

Jason....do you mean you wouldn't want to market yourself as a StrategyConsultant.online? I consult with businesses and people all the time, and being a strategy consultant online makes sense to me

You're from Mars right? I'm curious, was it the site that was weird or just the fact it's extension was .XYZ?

LemonParty probably looks weird but I don't think that hurts the .org brand.

Not sure why a .xyz.

Maybe they did mean it looked weird to see someone using it. I felt like that about any "real" company using a non .com/net/org the first time I saw one.

OMG Nicholas....i made the mistake of going to LemonParty.org, and I promise I'll never go back:xf.eek: I don't know why .xyz either, but they've sold a lot of promotional domains.

Question? Do you understand the "why" when you go to NamesCon.online? If you do than we should talk.

It's really funny how some people see things so differently than others. I was a mere lad of 70 years young three years ago when I saw the domain PingPong.gives, and i was curious enough about it that I checked it out and it turned out to be a good thing. That's when i learned about new gTLD's, and I immediately thought they were cool:xf.cool: Now that's me, but if i truly believe in something I can sell it to others. This is why I'm so turned on to .online. Make sense?

Thanks for your input(y)

obviously the extension. I mean how can you know the intended business of .XYZ extension?

"Cookies.XYZ" does make sense but not "Starbucks.xyz"

I'm not even sure "Cookies.XYZ" makes sense. How so? I'm curious, does "Cookies.online" make sense to you? Anyone?

Cookies.xyz might explain a wide variety of cookie stock. like "you can buy xyz any cookie from our store" . Otherwise, xyz doesn't make any sense to me.

The only xyz i Own is "Dafaq.xyz", do you want to BUY

Windoms....i'm laughing with you as I suspect Heisenberg.d (who started this) is as well.....at least he's laughing at you and me.

Back on topic....while most of the top new gTLD's are falling off the cliff, both .xyz and .online seem to be hanging in there. I registered a two word .online name yesterday where the equivalent .com is valued @ 180K at Estibot and 250K @ Nameworth. Even GD values it > 25K and that's as high as it goes.

For this domain the .online extension is a perfect fit similar to NamesCon Online:xf.wink:. btw, i just registered at NamesCon.online for their conference in September....i hope you have(y)

Fair argument but that domain is likely taken and pricey. The small number of non dot com and dot net domains I would are probably already owned and being squatted on.

That's sort of my point Jason. I think I picked up the name "strategy consultant" either from your Linkedin bio or somewhere else, and when you go to StrategyConsultant.com it redirects:xf.rolleyes:

StrategyConsultant.online is available to buy for .99 cents and if you don't want it, i'll probably buy it later. Thanks for commenting.

I think my only .xyz is amish.xyz. it forwards to my facebook group with almost 135000 members. I have the .co forwarded to my store page.

Well, one thing is that all of these sales taking up space on NameBio will definitely change the perception for domainers that these are investible and renewable assets to hold.

So for that reason, whatever is happening is working.

Why are all the xyz sales at the top of the Namebio page today even? Can you pay to have your sales listed first? They are not even the biggest sales of the day. Weird.

The .xyz sales are at the top because they are the only reported sales on 2021-06-10 so far.
