Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

once again it is such a pain to try to list on sedo

usually I change all dns first then add, take about 1hour to approve

This time 18 still pending, dns set to sedo parking 2 days ago, 1 email ticket summited, and then I got the 10 day warning email and called support today.

Lady didn't have much to say other than a bug and tech team is one it.

sedo is so frustrating, waiting for them connect so I can change dns to dan and efty so i don't have to redo this process.

I honestly almost about done with sedo and why i hardly bother to list my names there most the time .

...rant over

Do you have a list of countries that you happen not to do business with?

Sometimes it fastens the listing process if you delete the submitted (pending) domain names and submit them again.

List and park only BIN domains there...
During corona times I already had 2 cases when my BIN domains were sold on Sedo even within 2 days!
NOT MLS, regular sales for 10%, 849 EUR (German domainer) and 2021 EUR (Russian buyer). Both domains are .PRO

@Sedo Is there any way that I can have a chat with your customer care representative instantly - either here or on your website? Need to clarify some aspects regarding a sale. Thanks.

I added several new purchases to Sedo yesterday, but (naturally) one domain seems to be stuck at the authorization stage, even through the TXT Code is present when you do a DNS lookup.

Happens from time to time so I need to contact Sedo, but when I enter their Support page, I get an "Unknown Error" response.

And then when I try to "Ask a Question" I get the error "A problem has been encountered. Your question could not be processed."

This is kind of holding up my whole morning, as I can't change the DNS or nameservers until this ONE listing has been approved.

Exactly how do you do that?

I remember Sedo pending used to show up on your auction list, but it doesn't seem to any more.

@Sedo

They have a facility, where you mail them with screenshot of your domain from your registrar dashboard, the screen shot should show your name and domain name. And your domain will be approved and will get listed on sedo. Happens with me many time, specially when you list names on multiple platforms.

Hope it helps...

Thanks, but the Sedo Authorization Code is on the DNS record (confirmed using multiple tools and even re-added it last night to be sure) but the domain is just "stuck" in processing.

Of course it is only possible if the domain name is already displayed as pending in your list - sometimes it is displayed, sometimes not (no idea why).

Same here, and this one is definitely not pending.

I have a feeling this listing is already on Sedo, and from a big investor, so it automatically gets security locked up when a new owner tries to list it, even with a code in the DNS. Which kind of defeats the purpose of using an authorization code....

And the big problem is, that anything manual like this takes absolutely forever to get corrected on Sedo right now.

You can contact them via email, it may fasten the process.

@Sedo How can I view the Sedo weekly sales report on a URL or from the feed? I don't have programming skills. I don't want to use another website either.

Another pile of new purchases added this weekend and a few "stuck" domains that will seemingly not approve. Again, all domains have the ID Code on the DNS, freely viewable by any DNS tool, but there is never any movement at Sedo.

They're just "stuck".

Sent an email to Sedo Security - no reply and this issue is becoming chronic.

Sedo is just not working for me. I usually sell .CAs and there are always problems with transferring, where the buyer really doesn't understand the process and the entire transaction just comes to a screeching halt. I am totally helpless as Sedo cuts off all contact with the buyer so I am totally at their mercy.

I have put in two cries for help so far, but the Broker Bots have not even auto-responded. I often wonder if Sedo has any living workers left...

On GD, since they are a registrar, a .CA domain transfer takes about 2 seconds and I get the money the next day. But it's a 20% commission. DAN is naturally slower than GD, but still responsive, and checks in at a 10% commission. You can even chat with the buyer on DAN to clear up snags.

Sedo is in the middle at 15%... but I'm really not sure exactly what I'm paying for. Even the slightest snag on a non-fast transfer domain results in 3-5 day delays before you even get a reply, let alone solve the problem, and I have had transactions sit at Sedo for well over a month before these are completed.

At this point, I need another ccTLD transaction at Sedo like I need a hole in the head. Seriously, these are shaving years off my life.

The main thing I would like to see from @Sedo is more thorough information that is updated at least one time each year. There is no detrimental effect to anybody of having regularly updated answers. Website feedback surveys are affordable even from a small pool of respondents. Following on from that I would like to see the sedo website revamped to look more modern and user friendly. Can I also say that I've never had any problems with sedo domain name transfers or customer support so it's just with their website for me.

How fast does the "broker" get back to you when you respond within the Transfer Center system?

For me, it's 3 days min, 5 days max to get a human to respond.

In the case of a buyer who fails/refuses to respond to the domain transfer request (Sedo cannot "take over" a .CA and has zero power and leverage), how long before the seller can request the transaction be cancelled without penalty?

Like I said before, I once waited a month, and I'll never do that again as I don't need the hassle. I know Sedo has a limit on non-payment, but what about a limit on "being an utter twat"?

@Sedo

Sedo, list my name, price it and forget.
Did they get rid of full page cookie warning? A normal person types in crapola.ca they dont want to see sedo in adress bar with a big warning? No
I went incognito, typed in name i point there. What an ugly page to land on with my domain name. Ugly name anyways but not point. Get rid of that full page cöökie warning Chris
