Get past the sound bites and talking points.

Liz Cheney a victim of GOP cancel culture for telling the truth.

The irony in this statement is pretty hilarious.

Kevin McCarthy insisted in the letter that ousting her for sharing a different opinion was in line with the party’s values.

β€œWe are a big tent party,” he wrote in a letter to fellow GOP members. β€œWe represent Americans of all backgrounds. ... And unlike the left, we embrace free thought and debate.”

Liz Cheny is being removed for:

1) Public statements that conflict with Republican leadership.

2) Not raising money for the Republican party, which was her main job.

3) Her replacement voted against Trump more than Liz Cheny.

That's not cancel culture, it being fired for doing a bad job.

Yes, it is Biden who is the threat. Not the whiny loser who lost the election in a landslide and tried to overturn the results and end democracy. Derp.

The one that is "tweeting"on his little blog and still spreading lies as they "cancel" people on their side that are unwilling to keep the lie going.

Brad

1) Trump isn't President.

2) The election may have been "legal" by court order but it wasn't fair or honest.

California has a staggering $75.7B budget surplus

The first years after jacking up taxes are like the first years of communism. Pretty good, until the rich are tapped out or have all left and there is nobody left to shake down except the proletariat. (North Korea had a higher standard of living than South Korea for the first few years.) Cal got an extra boost with the windfall profits made by internet companies due to Covid shutdowns.

I guarantee California will be bankrupt within this decade. Sure as gravity.

The Cannabis Industry will keep it afloat

Can't keep anything afloat if there's no water - especially agriculture. The entire San Joaquin Valley, which provides most of the US with fresh produce, will return to being a desert if things continue as they are.

Climate Change is a myth don't y'know

Climate change or not, water usage in California has been corrupt, wasteful and unsustainable since day one. (See Chinatown.) And next to nothing is being done about it. They could learn from Israel, but it's cheaper and easier just to import Mexicans and destroy the land and water resources.

A natural resource that has been taken for granted for too long. Water will likely become more valuable than gold or oil as rising demand from people, industries and agriculture puts pressure on existing supplies in the near future.

Yep. Another reason California is screwed. You can bet that fat surplus isn't going to address the water problem. Probably go to birth control for transvestites.

But things are so screwed up that Tibetans in the shadow of the Himalayan snows and Bangladeshis in the Ganges Delta have no drinking water. One thing we've got in my neighborhood (and yours), plenty of water.

Climate change is real. The problems politicians blame on climate change and the proposed solutions are the problem.

Perhaps, but scientists have been warning about Climate Change for years to deaf ears, hence, many people (politicians included) are still under the fallacy that it is not man-made and have taken little action to change course.

What proposed (problem) solutions are you referring to?

You can't prove it's a man made problem. It's probably a number of complex factors. Scare mongering to make 10's of millions ( Al Gore, etc. ) is the cause of climate change skepticism.

Every scientist that offers an alternative explanation is attacked and accused of being a paid schill.

What proposed (problem) solutions are you referring to?

The general habit of politicians to blame unrelated problems, policy failures on Global Warming.

Circumstances change, people can too. People blame politicians but fail to listen to science. :doctor:

How do Canadian provinces and territories compare to American states in terms of COVID-19 cases? During the first two waves of the pandemic, Canada’s highest-reporting regions were low compared to places south of the border. But in the third wave, that’s changed.
