Mate, you have posted the wrong data. Just double check these sales with Namebio.Show attachment 189617

This is a bug in Namebio. I've reported this several times to @Michael but he has not fixed it.

At the moment I also see $35,000 on the NameBio site, but when I copy paste, it pastes as follows:

SPACECOIN.COM last sold for $83,444 on 2021-05-03 at Sedo

It’s an intentional anti-scraping measure we have in place for free users, it’s been like that for a while now. Where did you report it though? I’ve responded to everyone who brought it up to me.

Hello @Michael

I've been reading about your wish to mitigate automatic scraping by bots and I agree that this can be very disturbing for your business.

At the same time, I don't think real human users who have passed your captcha test should ever encounter these kinds of oddities when trying to copy paste information. I and others have already experienced several times that the amounts that are pasted differ from what is shown on the website. The difference can be in the tens of thousands.

Your intentions are good, but the result is not good and people are complaining about this. It is up to you how you want to deal with this further.

I find it unreliable from the first time I noticed this and people started pointing out to me that I would have seen something wrong, which was not the case. Here's one set of posts (of several times) I've been trying to highlight you, without success. Glad that it worked today.

I wouldn't know why exactly...

I just notice that it is happening and the cause of this problem lies with Namebio.

Captcha is not 100% reliable, especially Recaptcha alternatives. Many advanced users have ability to trick these kind of barricades and simply write automation scripts on TamperMonkey to scrape all the data on the websites. There are some other advanced ways too, but talking about them publicly won't be cool I guess...

Personally, I also don't like the obfuscated numbers when I do copy-paste, but I somehow understand @Michael 's intention to do not distribute that precious data for free and protect his servers & business.

It's a dilemma unfortunately...

Yes you're right. I've been thinking about some solutions as well. None of these will be perfect, but will improve the current situation.

The simplest solution would be to present a warning on the Namebio site, that when you paste their data elsewhere, the outcome will not be reliable at all, and will cause a lot of confusion. Humans are able to read such a warning, and will not paste this data here any longer. Another solution is to make graphics of the sale amounts. Textual pasting will no longer be possible then.

What I think is most important, is that users of @Michael 's great Namebio site will be made aware of it. At this moment, we have these discussions about unreliable amounts (without mentioning this, members wouldn't even know they are pasting unreliable data). Presenting the correct sales amounts is important in our discussions.

(Sorry for discussing this in this thread about crypto)

You picked up on it because you are diligent in your posting ;)

I find it hard to understand how some members re-post Michael's data without noticing it is not what they just read a moment earlier.:xf.confused:

Hi @CraigD :xf.smile:

Well. I could have said something like this myself, but... actually it happened to me once here on namePros. I did not expect the amount to be different (I was copying the complete sentence from Namebio). And I'm always doing a test-paste in CLI before pasting my buffered data anywhere on the net. So, I'm pretty aware of things, but yet I was fooled. Since then, I heard from others that this had happened to them as well, and I see that it happens to others too. So I bring it up.

My bottom line is simply that I like to see correct amounts posted in sales threads and anywhere else on namePros. A motto that Namebio itself also pursues.
