Having this domain Washington-DC.com for years sitting in my account. Without the hyphen i would have a killer domain, which would fetch in the old days 200-300K USD.
With the hyphen not even 1% i guess. Only way is to develop it and not anymore my liking.

So what you think would be a (reseller) price to get rid of it ?
thanks
Peter

The domain washingtondc.com would be considered premium. With the hyphen, it does cripple it a bit, but still see value

The domain washington-dc.net fetched mid hundreds. However, you have the .com...

My appraisal for your domain is low thousands, up to a "potential" mid thousands (if sold to the right buyer)

maybe, try to sell to the Washington Post, they may be interested...

Agree with @jhm. Despite the fact that you can't see a potential business right away for such a domain - it definitely has the value. My take is that if you are more of the ''sell'' side, price it at $999, if more on a ''hold'' side - around 1500-2000. Might take 2-3 years, but you will sell it, don't throw away...
Better set up a nice landing page and throw some free SEO if possible to draw more attention (counting the negative effect of hyphen).
But I guess you'll be fine eventially with this domain.

Even with a hyphen it has solid value.

The hyphen is in a location where it makes total sense.

At least somewhere in a $X,XXX range.

You can probably find a better offer, but if not I would pay $500 reseller for this domain without a problem.

Any strong GEO with one well placed hyphen like Las-Vegas, San-Diego, San-Francisco, etc. is going to have at least some value in .COM. They are among the better secondary options IMO.
