Is anyone else using cashback programs to save on costs?

I'm using:

  • topcashback.co.uk (and its .com version > topcashback.com) when purchasing from GoDaddy and NameCheap
For GoDaddy I'm getting 15.75% cashback (yes, it works for DDC too ;) ).
For NameCheap I'm also getting 15.75% cashback but I've had some issues with orders that did not track. Those did track eventually but I had to contact support to claim the cashback.
  • extrabux.com when purchasing from Dynadot
For Dynadot I'm getting 25% cashback which is huge in my opinion.
For example, with the latest transfer promo they had > $7.99 for a transfer you get $2 back > this mean the transfer basically costs you $6... and that's the lowest I know of right now.
Not only that $6 / transfer is the lowest but you get your domains with Dynadot which is kind of a big deal since they are one of the "better" registrars around.
Of course, you need to remember to click the cashback link before all purchases... But if you have a large portfolio - trust me - it's worth it. For 100 transfers you save $200.

You can join using my affiliate links below (sometimes there are bonuses for doing so):
topcashback.co.uk > https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/namedawn
topcashback.com > https://www.topcashback.com/ref/namedawn
extrabux.com > https://www.extrabux.com/r/52978b822e (at this time they offer $20 sign-up bonus... which is a lot for this kind of program)

If you don't want to use my affiliate link (for whatever reason) just copy the name and avoid accessing the link.

I tried many of these programs and, from my experience, these are the most serious ones. They actually track the orders most of the time and, unlike others, they actually pay.

You can use these programs even for other stuff you can get cashback for. For example I used them for plane tickets with Lufthansa, ebookers and skyscanner, train tickets with trainline, bus tickets with flixbus, car rental with Priceline, hotel room with Hotwire and booking.com, Adobe subscription, NordVPN subscription, BestBuy purchases, etc...

If you need clarifications, instructions, whatever (even proof of payment) - post here or send me a DM.

Full disclosure: I do prefer topcashback.co.uk because they are the fastest paying and they were the most helpful when I had issues with orders that did not track.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yep. . . as I said... just was not worth it if we all read the fine print beforehand...

No idea why OP is angry with us. I think he expected us to give him an income stream without caring whether or not it would actually benefit us.

Good deal for me, too: I did not receive any rewards but Extrabux received a lot of my data.

Great thread! Can I ask if you know if there's any options like this for sedo, namesilo or Epik?

@Grand - there is no direct cashback option for those as far as I'm aware

Scroll up to read about how more than a few of us were suckered into wasting our time with any of these cash back programs.

If you do sign up I recommend that you do not use any sort of affiliate link - sign up on your own that way after you’ve wasted your time and gotten not a penny of cash back for any domain related purchases at least you won’t have lined the pockets of whoever convinced you to sign up.

If it doesn't work for them, it can't work for me - I can't "line my pockets".
In order for me to get anything from referrals, that referral has to be validated ... with a valid purchase.
If he / she makes a valid purchase, cashback is awarded.

I understand you now have an obsession with this thread and that's fine with me but I invite you to stop obsessing and think for a moment.

PS: Even with all the issues at extrabux, it looks like at least one member made quite a purchase and got cashback for it. I got $65 bonus (5% of his cashback) so his cashback was ~$1300. You can imagine the value of the order.

If you at godaddy are member of GDDclub or have BULK of SUPER bulk buyer-status at Dynadot, etc........which already gives discount, will that give here discount too ?

1/And what if you buy Registry Premium domains ?

2/And are there other ones then these organisations that give cashback ?

3/And where is the money that you get back exactly go to : to a balance you have at these organisations or your balance at godaddy or dynadot ?

@Domainstore - PM me and I'll answer
I no longer answer these specific questions here

I'll do that, but this thread is very confusing and scares me to begin with it.
(also because the money can be used elsewhere : do you get lots of spam from them ?)

I hope I clarified everything over PM.
I tried to make the thread as clear as possible and clear up confusion. I probably didn't do a very good job at doing this publicly and it lead to some undesired effects. Therefore I will only support referrals over PM.

Thanks. If you need further help please PM me.

They never tracked my Godaddy sales. Do I need to be in UK to use this?

Nope. I'm not from the UK and it's working for me.
You probably already had a cookie with another referral. I generally use Firefox with delete cookies after each sessions for cashback.
If you are positive that you didn't have another cookie set - you can try claiming missing cashback. If they accept it - good for you. If not - at least they mention why it was not accepted.
I also don't see anybody who could be you in my referral list. If you are my ref for them, can you please share your join date via PM?

I used Rakuten quite a bit to save on Godaddy auctions, but since I've decided to avoid spending money at Godaddy so it doesn't come up much for me.

Multiple payment options - including PayPal, wire / ACH, card, various gift cards (with bonus), etc.
Very low payout limit - $10 as far as I remember.
