So guys I got a first offer for domain, what's the popular method of getting payment for domain?

So I will offer this 3 methods for client:

1. Create the account on godaddy and send me your info which I need to fill into domain transfer and then send me money to PayPal
2. Offer me on dan.com where I have parked the domain and finish process via dan.com
3. Do the transfer via escrow.epik.com

Please give me some tips, also client will need to wait 5-7 days for domain transfer into his account, I don't want him to think that I am scammer because of that transfer waiting process
And I need to explain to him that I cannot transfer domain to another provider because I need to wait 60 days (I bought that domain few days ago)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The simplest way would be to list it on the marketplace of your registrar, then send the client the link and have them purchase it that way.

Thank you guys for the tips
So my buyer decided to use the first method which I have mentioned up, I transferred the domain to his account (GoDaddy is the provider), after we changed ownership, he sends me money on PayPal
I was not afraid that he would deceive me, even if he tried I would contact support and I hope they would help me in that situation

What about escrow.com services?

So you saved commission. Depending on the price of the name, probably an ok move. But for higher price starting in four figures, probably safer for both parties to go through Dan or similar marketplace with escrow service.

If the buyer decided to go through escrow service he would need to pay fees, right? Or should I pay fees?

Yeah, in that case, I think it's required to use escrow, no one will send money first but I don't think I would do the transfer before payment

Outworld, you'd be foolish to repeat that process of sale. Don't transfer a domain before payment and "hope" Godaddy will help you in case you don't get paid. I don't see why they would feel responsible.

Hi Outworld! I hope whatever way you went it was a good experience. Have you been paid for the name?

Stay safe, use escrow. Hope your trade is / was successful

You are right, he probably could fool me, maybe support couldn't help me there.. There is also human assessment, he is not some random person, he is CEO of one Avio academy, so I was 99% sure about him

Yeah, everything is okay, I got my payment immediately after the change of ownership

dan.com is the fastest and lowest commission if you add them as a lead instead of having them make the offer. i think 4% or 5% and if it is not the weekend it will take a day or max two days for the domain to be delivered.

Edit: Congrats on your sale

OK Outworld so now that you have everyone's interest, can you at least tell us how much you sold the name for if you're not going to reveal the name?

I don't really want to share the name, but the price I sold it was 150$, I bought that one on auctions.goddady.com for 10$, it's GEO domain
I am satisfied with the profit for my first domain sale, I literally started with domaining about 2 weeks ago

Exactly, use dan.com (or any other) landing page and forget about all these problems. And never ever trust PayPal, even you get money beforehands.

That's great beginner's luck Outworld! Good luck with domaining. With a lot of time, reading, research and hard work you should do well.
