For a period of two months I have been trying to get a domain equal to 6 cheap numbers.
I tried all of DropCatch but the bids are bigger than my wallet.
Please share with us sites that work effectively for a relatively low price.
I tried both DropCatch and Networksolutions.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If the name you want is also sought by other potential buyers, i.e. it is popular, the two best dropcatching services are dropcatch.com and snapnames.com (SnapNames is owned by the same company as NetworkSolutions, hence the same thing) and they are going to catch most i.e. almost all of the drops you are interested in.

The system they work on is that if they catch a name all who have backordered that name are entitled to join the ensuing auction for it. You have to bid more than anybody else to win the auction.

Auctions are going a bit beserk at the moment. I won one tonight at US$445 this evening which I would probably have won last year for half that and I think it was a great price today.

There are other winners of dropcatches, some of whom give the first bidder the name at a fixed, usually low, price. But they very rarely catch the higher level domains. Are they OK for the market you are in? I know there are one or two such dropcatcher services owners who are members here on namePros.

That's a general overview. I have no idea what you mean by a domain equal to 6 cheap numbers so I can't help you there.

DropCatch has special discount BO service.
It has less effectiveness than regular $59 one, but reasonable $20 methinks (10-59 ur choice)

I am still utterly mystified by this expression "equal to 6 cheap numbers". So far as I am aware, it has no meaning in mathematics or the English (whether English or the American dialect of English) language.

@Benzehaf kindly elucidate. :)

Right?
.Com backorder game, the only 1 that matters it’s concentrated

DropCatch, Snapnames... then you have :poop:
All due respect to the rest of the Backorder... If someone else placed one using these two, you’re likely beat. It’s not fair... but gamed it, and it involves a lot of spending on their part 2.

Compare “backorder companies” to “OPEC”.
Or “media congl; AT&T and Verizon. few choice good service. Snap’s $69! Private auction, if 2 backordered there, may help long
Snapnames also requires have Net Sol acc;
they are the worst Registrar in my opinion...
But you make those sacrifices and get the hell out of Network Solutions.. Lol

DropCatch is Public Auction if 2+ people BO,
Clearly u have a good eye.. makes difference. Public Auctions tend to result in higher prices.

:ROFL::ROFL::xf.eek::xf.cool: @Samer, thank you, I agree with all you say. I use them, plus GD and NameJet, equally evil boardroom led would-be monopolists with creaking, ancient, leaking, inefficient and overpriced business models because they have managed to squeeze out any competitors or have been allowed to continue through sclerotic legislative failure.

Not because I am naive and don't understand what they are about. I use them because in spite of the risks I want those prime domains and theirs are the only places I am going to get them. Frankly, I'd prefer to see them all destroyed and have a market free-for-all.

But what does "a domain equal to 6 cheap numbers" mean? I really, honestly, do not understand what the hell meaning it is intended to convey.

Thank you @Benzehaf. It seems you want to buy domains worth 6 figures cheaply.

OK, that's what we would all like to do. You may, very occasionally, and only if you are going through all the lists which is a great deal of work, find one. Domains worth 6 figures are worth 6 figures because everybody wants them so the competition is high.

If somebody finds a sure source of domain names worth 6 figures which they can purchase cheaply they are not going to tell us. If they did the price would shoot up immediately as everybody piled in to that source.

The very best help I can give you is to tell you not to buy domain names until you learn a lot more about how the trade works. Then start at a far more modest level until you get the hang of it. If you just pile in, trying to turn water into wine you will soon leave with a much smaller bank balance than you have now.

Is the 1 year registration price is included in $10-59 backorder fee?

I've found a couple 5 figure names combing through the expired scrap heap. However I would be deeply surprised to anything worth 6 figures or more make it to open market.

Try DropCatch discount club. It starts from $10 upto $58 (your choice).

It's better than manual registration, but can easily lose to the Standard $59 backorder and most of the other backorder services.
