I'm not sure what time exactly, but any time is a good time to save energy :xf.grin:

Help to raise awareness, especially amongst the younger generation who will inherit the Earth

It's good to see that the Environment has become the focus of attention again and that there are some serious talks taking place about reducing the CO2 emissions around the World,

But, if these talks are not followed by immediate and concrete actions to actually fix all the Environmental problems that have been to a big part neglected by all sides so far then that means that everyone is going to continue doing business as usual and forget about what they said in a few weeks (or even days).

Let's not dance around these issues any longer, the question that needs to be answered is whether everyone around the World is willing to live a much Simpler Life or not. The consumerism and the need for self indulgence by those who want to live in excesses which seem to have taken over the World lately are still going to continue to Tax the resources of this Planet beyond what it can cope with and unless we as the Human race can ascend to a higher level of thinking and existence that can produce some fundamental changes in the way that we live and that the World is being run then we are just fooling ourself in thinking that what is being said is going to make any difference this time around.

Everyone has to understand that everything in the World is connected together, we can't continue with all the injustice, inequality, torture, killings, and Wars that are currently taking place around the World which are in a big part driven by all the bad human characteristics of hate, greed, wastefulness, jealousy, lust, and lack of empathy and then pretend to be the good guys who want to do good for the Environment and this Planet when we gather in the Climate Conferences.

Unless the Governments around the World are willing to take some drastic measures to change the the kind of political, cultural, social, and economical structures that have caused all these problems with the Environment in the first place then that means that all the talks that are going on right now are going to be just talks as usual and that nothing is going to change in the mindset and behavior of the World leaders and the current and future generations.

I agree, the saying, "Talk is cheap" has taken on new meaning. For generations, the population has been quelled in the belief that governments act in the best interest of the citizenry, when it becomes more apparent that officials often act in their own best interest, that is, to maintain the status quo or less, to line the pockets of their supporting interests. A shift in the paradigm of the business as usual model, that being conspicuous consumption, is often met with rebuke because people have become programmed to believe this is what fuels our market system, and without it, the economy is going to tank. Competition is a natural quality, but so is co-operation. The system just needs some tweaks of wisdom.

Freedom is the ability to make choices, to act upon one's will, and the power to make rational decisions in order to adapt to change. It is apparent to this Cannuck that the tangent we're currently on is unsustainable in the long run and that a change in societal direction (and psyche) must be implemented, hopefully, sooner than later. With incremental changes, the shock to our system won't be so dramatic. Over time, it becomes the new paradigm...every day can be Earth Day if we have the freedom and power to make that choice.

When looking to solve longstanding problems, something to think about:

"if the problem is a longstanding one, if it hasn’t been solved in a while, then the places that you think are obvious solutions, aren’t. Because they’ve already been tried.

As time goes on, the most likely site of the solution is further and further away from what you would have guessed. So begin there instead. That’s the new obvious place.

Hint: it’s probably a place that feels uncomfortable, risky or difficult."

Here's what could be a good example for my post above. One reason why is that a friend considers it a potentially 'risky' solution, so feels 'uncomfortable' with it - that it could be used to beat regulations. In this instance, I'm thinking it's worth any such potential risk....But I haven't fully thought or checked that out.

Infinium's electrofuels: An instant zero-carbon path for big transport

It's going to take decades to get aviation, shipping and long-haul transport down to zero emissions – but an interim solution is about to hit the market that can clean up big transport straight away, with no fleet changes – albeit in a strange way.

Let's not dance around these issues any longer, the question that needs to be answered is whether everyone around the World is willing to live a much Simpler Life or not.

And another question that needs to be answered is that are we as the Human Race a Force For Good or not.

And if not then why not and how can we become a Force For Good.

Without making some fundamental changes in the way that we think and live it would be close to impossible to be able to save ourselves and our Home Planet.
