I am following up on a suggestion to do an analysis on tree and plant/flower terms in brandable domain names, similar to the analysis I did of animal names in brandable names.

To get started, I need a list of terms people think are valuable, and I will look at the sales record, listings on brandable marketplaces and use in some famous existing brands.

Please help me choose what terms to study. I am planning to split it into two parts, one on only trees, and one on flowers and other plants.

e.g. Trees
  • evergreen
  • maple
  • oak
Flowers/Plants
  • rose
  • lily
  • violet
Can you please post what terms you think should be added to my analysis. Thank you!

Bob

Cycad/Cycads are a extremely interesting plant species .
Pollen and seed collection big business around the world.
Many on the endangered list.
I love em so had to suggest them.
According to dotdb 378 domains matched with Cycad .

Congrats on your new theme, @Bob Hawkes !

Many have mentioned cannabis or mushrooms, but theese are small industries compared to other addiction plants.

People get easily addicted to many plant species.
There has been many and still ongoing wars for such plants.

Here is my top list of addiction industry plants:

Tobacco
Tea
Coffee
Cacao
Poppy
Coca
Sugar cane

Looking forward to read your next article!

Greetings,
Maximinus

I think Bob is asking about use of plant /tree names as words used in domain names. Like
cocomelon.com
Many replies here are about commercial value of plants/trees

I will be making a selection to start the analysis in a few days, so if others have ideas to suggest pleas do so.

Thank you SO MUCH to all who have responded.

My original thought was mainly around two word names where one of the words was a plant/flower/tree and other hinted at sector for brand, but see that sometimes more rare plants can form a nice brand all by themselves.

Will be interesting to see what I find when I go looking at sales, company names, and brandable market listings.

Thanks again everyone.

Bob

There are some bushes in com and water trees in com seeing in drop list and they are not worth enough for brand names. You should make category like :

Flower plants : Rose, Daisy
Commercial plants : Tobacco, Rice, Maple
Uncommercial Woods : thuja
Bushes : Azalea, Shrub
Water plants : jarrarium : pilea

Off the top of my head,

Pine, lotus, oak, fig, orange, orchid, mango, berry, corn, bailey, apple, curry, daisy, pepper, cedar, aspen, cherry, tulip, lemon, ginger, lime

Can't say which are more valuable than others. But I see them used in brand names. So, I think your findings and analysis will be an interesting read.

Good Luck

Thank you so much, Brad. That was really helpful.

I posted this request on Twitter with link here. Responses there that did not appear here could be added:
  • blossum
  • bulb
  • Christmas Tree
Thanks again!

Great thread, Bob!

I've always liked Belladonna - Latin/Italian still means Beautiful (bella) + Donna (woman). The ancient Roman ladies took drops of the belladonna plant to dilate their pupils, making them more enchanting (and temporarily almost blind LOL).

Great list. You can also add onion. Don't know if wood qualifies here. A lot of brands and domains with the 'wood' keyword

Lol... poor Bob. The branches are endless (pun intended). I mean, we also have Woody the Woodpecker, and then those tree dudes from Avengers movie, Groot and Groot's kid.
