Guys,

how many of you are on Twitter? Are you doing some good sales there? Let's discuss :)

I personally started my Twitter account yesterday (and would be glad if you connect me there).

After having more than 12k followers on LinkedIn, I want to experiment with Twitter now, as I think LinkedIn can be sometimes pretty boring and slow.

Twitter seems to be more lively.

GL to everyone, and create your Twitter presence if you are not there yet!

Proud to say NO.

Maybe y’all will convince me, seeing who’s on..

I feel it’s become too partisan political negative

In my Twitter bubble, it will be all about domain names.

I do not feel it is professional to get into politics when you are a domain investor.

Anyone who will start to act in a nonprofessional way will get ... INSTA BLOCKED :)

I am on Twitter @AGreatDomain

I have never directly tried to sell there - now and then show a graphic for a name.

It can be another way to network outside domain community.

I tried Twitter during my first ~5 years in domaining.
Then stopped, like I stopped email outbound.

Hop there again :) LinkedIn is pretty good, and I think Twitter will be even better - let's experiment :)

Because LinkedIn is more serious in terms of business activity.

Honestly - I think people on Twitter are much more approachable. I was now experimenting with NFTs/crypto since November (so I neglected domains a bit) and I want now to transfer my experience from these areas into domaining again :)

Well, if you have a good profile there, you can DM to CEO/decision-makers directly and many times they react in a very positive manner. They can also directly contact you there - good profile = trust.

I have NEVER experienced any negative or abusive behavior on LinkedIn. I think the reason is that most people there are fully uncovered - and when they are not under anonymous profiles, people usually behave pretty decently.

The same or similar I expect at Twitter, but I think Twitter has more anonymity, so it will be a more rough place to be - yet to be tested :)

I just prepared a small contest on Twitter - everyone who will hop there can participate

I'm an old hat with Twitter.

In fact, 12 years ago I developed a really cool marketing system called Powered By Tweets which unfortunately died shortly after that when Twitter changed the rules - big sad face :xf.eek::arghh::xf.frown::blackeye:

The domain I let expire awhile later and someone probably Twitter itself snatched it up.

So, which one of the dozens of accounts should I list? hmm okay @BradCWilson that account is for the most part unused and extra "nice" ha.

Well all my stuff is nice but this one just doesn't overly expose my old domains :)

So if anyone wants to pull some of my old domain "nuggets", you'll have to do some diggn.

Oh yes of course I've used Twitter to market my domains but I haven't done it recently so I'd be very interested to see if it works now because it didn't before.

Tips from me? ha okay...

Don't put a lot of time and effort into Twitter because they're very fickle.

Using social media to sell your domains is basically like saying, "a good domain isn't gonna cut it to sell your stuff". Think about it, is that the message you want to convey as a domainer?

there is nothing wrong with reaching out to potential buyers to let them know the domain is up for sale.
you think RE/MAX chief of marketing is visiting afternic or sedo looking for good domains to buy ? i don't understand this whole mentality of letting domains set parked waiting for the buyer to approach , not everyone can afford a one word.com

using social media is just like doing outbound

Sure, it works. No doubt about that. But basically we're all trying to convey the message that a 'good' domain is important for a business to get the best conversion possible.

Yet, If you flog your names on SM, your actions demonstrate its not actually that important and they could be doing just fine with alternatives like SM instead of using one of the stellar domains you have for sale. Think about it.

@DirkS what does SM stand for ?

Sorry about that. Social Media. In full disclosure, I hate most forms of social media from the bottom of my heart.

Clubhouse... Don't even get me started... :)

i personally have no social media accounts but i really like the idea to use twitter as a platform to market Firstname+Lastname domains but that's about it.
