Old technology based on outdated environmental standards. Snowmobile is my main means of winter transport in the north. Being environmentally conscious, I upgraded with the new ETEC ACE engine that reduces emissions and saves on fuel, but doesn't compromise on adrenaline.

It's great being at the forefront of technology, but keep in mind that in present times...

"Nothing that is required to harness breezes and sunshine to power civilization is clean, green, renewable, climate-friendly or sustainable. Tens of billions of tons of rock would have to be removed, to extract billions of tons of ores, to create millions of tons of metals, concrete and other materials, to manufacture millions of wind turbines and solar panels, and install them on millions of acres of wildlife habitats – to generate expensive, intermittent energy that would still be grossly insufficient for humanity’s needs. Every step in this process requires fossil fuels – and some of the mining involves child labor." [Let's follow the climate money]

It's nothing new... electric vehicles were invented and in use long before the internal combustion engine. It wasn't until Henry Ford's Model T production line that mass-produced automobiles took to the stage.

Electric cars have been around since before the US Civil War

Thankfully the US (reality) and the world is righting itself after it drifted into crazy. I am old enough to remember the OPEC Oil Crisis and I definitely remember what it did to scientific research. Cuts, cuts and more cuts and some of it damaged scientific fields or alternative research irreparably for at least 40 years.

The queues at gas stations were long!

After Reagan, bye bye alternative energy research. Nuclear reactor research in the 70s and 80s was pretty much entirely halted. Money was yanked from bio-fuel research. Why? Because the USA struck a deal with OPEC, and oil was cheap again. So the government decided not to worry, backed by oil money and powerful Washington lobbyists. Ronald Reagan took down the solar panels Jimmy Carter had put up on the White House. Obama put them back up 20 years later.

Put those solar panels up on your house, have a tea party, and do the right thing! :xf.wink:

Not easy being a green puppet advancing sensational climate scare only to tax everything that lives or produces. A tax that is clearly meant to cause a change in human behavior and give away total control and influence to some unelected global organization. How can anyone oppose such a utopian scenario or can a sane person dream up such a solution?

CO2 is not a pollutant, and is necessary for life on earth, enhances agriculture and plant life in general. Only a cultist would have others believe the benefit of lowering CO2 emissions that would justify a global taxation system and destroy the majority of the current industry and economy. The way environmentalists never address real pollutants associated with the combustion of carbon fuels speaks to their inescapable groupthink and devotion to the scripted narrative.

The never ending curse for the world is the leftist dream of creating a global authoritarian government with communist control over the economy. History does not matter to "watermelons":) (green on the outside, red on the inside:)) that communism was a complete failure and could never outproduce capitalism. Environmentalism is a way to continue advancing the communist ideology through the backdoor despite its track record.

Maybe at no point in time was the electric car disadvantaged by special interests, but by the physics of energy density for storage. I am no Rockefeller apologist as you can imagine, they were the oil monopoly at the time, I guess if they saw any advantage to going electric they would've just put their money in.

Some figures for reference, energy density in MJ/kg

supercapacitor - 0.01
battery, lead acid - 0.14
battery, NiMH - 0.4
battery, lithium ion - 0.46-0.72
hydrogen fuel-cell - 1.62
---
gasoline - 46.4
diesel fuel - 45.6

I just posted before how atrocious to the environment the mining for rare earth metals required for the panels and storage is.

Regarding Carter's policies, remember one he signed by executive order as soon as he got into office:

Carter’s biggest disaster when it comes to US policy; his banning, by Executive Order, the reprocessing of commercial nuclear fuel in the United States. [SGT Report - Biden is Carter]
Carter had nuclear experience since he went through naval school for it. He was convinced that the US could not manage a closed fuel cycle without serious accidents that would kill huge numbers of people, and issued a ban on reprocessing for civilian nuclear power plants. This did not kill the industry immediately but it did kill it certainly since there was no nowhere to put the spent fuel byproducts. Reagan reversed that E/O immediately on taking office but it didn’t matter; having been screwed out of their investments previously no private firm was willing to put up the cash to attempt to restart that process, and thus to this day there is no reprocessing of civilian nuclear fuel in the United States.

Would you prefer to use kerosene lamps in your home? Hydro-electric, solar and wind power, not to mention the Teslas inventions that were squashed by Standard Oil are/were clean energy.

Back when Tesla and Edison were warring with each other to determine if AC or DC would win out to become the dominant form of electricity, John D. Rockefeller was desperately trying to stop electricity from ever becoming mainstream. The reason? Widespread use of electricity had the potential to destroy Rockefeller’s Standard Oil’s stranglehold on the kerosene market, and it ultimately did.

The Ford Motor Company was a subsidiary of the Standard Oil Company!

In 1996, electric cars began to appear on roads all over California. They were quiet and fast, produced no exhaust and ran without gasoline. Ten years later, these cars were destroyed.

...all part of a plot to continue to finance Islam with petrodollars!

@JB Lions @lennco @Cannuck

What's it like to get punked over and over by the degenerates you support??

Even those on the Right who opposed Trump and had the courage to speak up are now getting punked by him in revenge, even though he literally has no chance of winning in 2024 (voters opinions of his presidency are already too cemented).

Histrionics. It's hard to face the truth, the media is manipulating you.

Here is a technical director at CNN admitting how they do it. Trump isn't in office. Stop being a fool.

Thanks, mr-x. I never thought I would see such a total brainwashing of Americans that they would so eagerly be manipulated. The US really is finished, barring something unexpected. Worse even than I thought it would be. It's like they wake up in the morning and have to be told by their media and masters what color the sky is: today it's purple, tomorrow pink, next week candy stripes... if you see blue, you will be arrested and re-educated.

To be fair, @Cannuck is a Canadian, has no bill of rights and doesn't know better.

JUST IN: Twitter Bans James O’Keefe After Latest Round of Hidden Videos Exposing CNN – O’Keefe to Sue Twitter for Defamation
Twitter banned Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe after he posted multiple videos exposing CNN’s left-wing bias.

Project Veritas on Thursday released a third bombshell undercover video of CNN Director Charlie Chester admitting that the network is “trying to help” Black Lives Matter by protecting their narrative on race.

Chester admits that they have only been pushing stories that implicate white people, during a conversation with a Tinder date that ended up being a Project Veritas reporter.

Chester admitted that while researching Asian hate, they found that it is mostly black men attacking them — so they did not dig in deeper.

A few hours later Twitter banned James O’Keefe’s account with nearly 1 million followers.

I know what I'd love to see happen to these Big Tech companies, but I'm not gonna say it here!!!
