So I had to think outside the box as all the good keywords are long gone and the aftermarket pricing looks to be a bit pricey.......

Having a look around I noticed another term that is under the radar, has some small traction building, a few companies using it and is related to metaverse & multiverse.......

Nvidia Omniverse
Marvel use the term Omniverse
Omniverse Esports has a TM in place - https://www.virtuix.com/omniverse-esports

And it is another term for Multiverse - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omniverse - so nice and generic.....

Also a handful of sites are using it in their domain.....

So a possible trend before the trend starts, maybe, maybe not - but I thought I would give it a punt for a few years......

OMNIVERSE cloud.com
OMNIVERSE host.com
OMNIVERSE Network.com
OMNIVERSE Porn.com
OMNIVERSE shop.com
OMNIVERSE space.com

I don't think so......

I done some serious digging into this over the last few days and for me it looks like there is something there......

Pretty sure someone would of said the same thing a few years ago if they had posted about metaverse + keywords

Time will tell if I am ahead of the curve on this :xf.smile:.......or not :xf.eek:

It's always nice to think outside box...but sometimes just best to stop at thinking.. I tend to agree with others..too long shot on these..

it's like on our vr thread we started having all those variations.. like vrtualcasino ...dropping letter..adding letter

it was useless.

there was always million more chance to sell avg name like my vrstatus vrmaintenance renovatevr vrlatex and 30 or so more avg names I sold in vr.. from 200 to 3000usd.... rather than sell names with dropped letters or other typos.. people get creative but often create nonsense...not realizing their domain creations never exist in buyers minds...creativity is more for like when u make painting... :)

What you have done is provide provide typos as examples on what not to do - which I agree with :xf.smile:

What I have done is look at keyword combinations, with "Omniverse" not being used very much, well hardly at all at the present time :xf.smile:

I've done my reading and happy to hold for a few years......I read repeatedly you need the balls, belief, a little money and some experience to hold onto domains for years - happy to do so with these......

There is always someone who gets in first and is willing to hold and see how a potential new market/keyword pans out - would rather be me in this instance and take a calculated punt than watch the bus go past in a few years time

Go and have a good read on Nvidia's platform and the potential it has and the partners signed up at the Beta stage - Plus some additional reading/snooping.....

I'm taking a bet that there will be a trickle down effect with developers, designers, animation studios start up's etc etc etc in this keyword space

As I said time will tell.........no big deal if it does or doesn't at least I'm in early just in case :xf.wink:

I agree it is surprising on the back of one sale and one person’s belief.

On Google the term ‘metaverse’ only generate 5.5 million search results, which isn’t many at all, some VR+keyword terms have that amount.

And the term ‘metaverse’ was only a word coined by 1 person from a book, it’s like everyone registering/buying up oasis+keywords on the back of Ready Player One, as that’s what the ‘metaverse’ is called in that story, so I do question whether an actual ‘metaverse’ (should it become reality) will be called ‘metaverse’ or something else.

But at the same time, metaverse is registered in a crazy amount of extensions and it makes sense (metaverse/universe).

That's what domain investing is all about though (speculation), getting there before everyone else, buying cheap and hoping to sell for more if/when the market is there, so good luck to everyone.
Then you have "Onmiverse" with only 4.22 million search results and has a major company using the term for one of their products already......and a few others using the term

An Omniverse is a set of all Universes" - so when all these metaverses, multiverses etc are up and running are they going to be termed under one umbrella? I'm taking a punt (speculating) they will........

You play a game in metaverse "A" decide to go to metaverse "B" to buy some clothes and then to celebrate your detachment from reality you go to metaverse "C" to buy a property and fill it with digital art......all the while you have stayed within the Omniverse that binds them all together :xf.eek:

Let the Omni (verse) vs Meta (verse) battle commence.......winner might not take it all, but a decent market share would be fine with me :xf.wink:

DISCLAIMER: The above is tongue in cheek and may not have any basis in reality

From October 2020

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang compares the Omniverse and the metaverse
https://venturebeat.com/2020/10/06/nvidia-ceo-jensen-huang-compares-the-omniverse-and-the-metaverse

"“Adobe is a world. Autodesk is a world. When someone is working on their content, they’re in their world,” Huang said. “These worlds are going to get richer and richer, as these worlds that you’re creating in [3D animation software] Maya start feeling like you’re in virtual reality. And so, your work group will feel like you’re in a world. And what we would like to do is to connect all of those worlds together, for the various work groups, the various studios, and they can work on one giant world, one giant piece of content. "

"“Potentially, this technology could be used to connect multiple consumer worlds together,”"

If you read my last my post he is basically saying what I said but in a much more eloquent (and long winded) manner......Also my post from a few pages ago said I took a punt on developers etc etc etc using the term

So my position remains unchanged :xf.wink:

I think the trend has been already started a couple of months ago, actually.
Nvidia, Adobe, Maya, Autocad, Blender, UE4 etc. area really big and authoritative brands. And the beta version of Nvidia's Omniverse is already stunning! That collaborative system is going to be a really game-changer.

I already have some name combinations in .com ready to be registered.
But before, I just want to be sure will it be okay to register them?
Or these big companies just open a simple UDPR cases and take over all those 'omniverse' names?

my limited understanding (based on my investigation into decentraland) is that metaverse is not going to be just a singular project (like only decentraland or whatever metaverse nvidia or whichever big tech company builds) but its going to be a cross-platform thing where users get to jump from one metaverse into another.

like for example, we will have decentraland, but if you have an account on vulcanverse or or asgardverse (a name I have regged lol) or any other metaverse.. you will get to jump between these metaverses and trade your virtual assets in a cross platform manner.
(think of it like gamers who play both Fortnite and COD, get to trade their in-game virtual items with each other)

so one metaverse getting super big is not going to be the end of rest of them, in fact it will help the rest of them grow faster.

I've checked there and TMVIEW before, but couldn't be sure about how TM rules work...

So it means that I can register whatever I want besides "NVIDIA OMNIVERSE", right?
i.e (OmniversePlatforms.com) or (MyOmniverse.com) and so on?
Using the original word in its' dictionary meaning will be okay?

I am comfortable enough that "Omniverse" is a generic term so adding another keyword to it is fine for me......

I was thinking the order like this: Omniverse > Metaverse > Universes > Worlds
I'm not even sure these terms are on point.

Never heard 'decentraland' before, will check it out after I've some sleep...
Things are unfolding so quickly and intensely, I cannot keep it up anymore.

I think we're on the edge of our century's breaking-point era. Need to catch the train before it's too late...

Just to be clear I have taken a calculated punt on the phrase becoming popular in the future, nearly everyone who has commented has said it will not. I mean some can't even agree on Meta or Metaverse

Please do some due diligence, there's plenty of info out there :xf.smile:

Everyone has their own opinion just make sure you arrive at yours after looking into it properly (y)

I actually don't think there is going to be any order in usage of those terms. I mean.. one word will eventually stick as a descriptive word for the concept of virtual worlds overlapping on our physical world. (probably metaverse because it makes more sense to me, meta meaning "beyond" as in a world beyond our universe. but who knows..)
but I think the projects (metaverses) will have all kinds of names so I think it likely won't be metaverse+keyword instead I think it will be either a meta+keyword or a keyword+verse. or in some cases even a combination of decentralized and keywords like decentraland.

I also like NickB's idea about omniverse sticking as a descriptive word for the cross-platform virtual world connecting all metaverses together. but don't think registering omniverse+keywords is a good idea!

but its all speculation at this point. time will tell.

That is probably to do with, well um Metadata (data about data) - not the Metaverse :xf.smile:

Nice .co sale all the same :xf.wink:

Could be wrong though, lets see what happens with it.....sold on Park.io so could be up for sale again
I agree with you. The good thing about keywords like Meta or Omni is that they can both apply to the metaverse or the omniverse respectively as well as other industries. More selling chances in my opinion.

I'll like to see what happens to the name. But I call data related. Anyway, Data is another industry that is also evergreen like Tech names.
