With so many extensions available for as less as 2 dollars hand registration, is the .COM living on borrowed time? In 10-15 years time will .LIFE be the same as .COM in valuation? Or is the .COM living on borrowed time just now...

.com is always .com and will never died.

Are you drinking at a party now?

LOL. Don't look at the first year price. Look at the renewal price.

Let stop it here so he can go back to the party.
There is no need to discuss about something that will never happen.

Indeed. COM doesn't stand a chance with these extensions. OMG. Just don't get me drunk at a club or I will start a new extension .fsadfasfweq that will kill .com.

Problem with sarcasm and the written word is that they are mutually incompatible - even though it is funny :xf.laugh:

.club was just acquired by Godaddy.

.link & .click (Uni’s best imo) are at auction.

Go to auction.link and buy Uni’s ngtlds busines

ngtlds’ dying, no pity if you opt for a non-com

Yes, it is Friday evening in Sydney Australia, what do you think?
Not getting a Pedicure for sure....

Don't mean to be rude for sure, but thinking forward as the Next big Internet Entrepreneur,
And asking this question - is .COM over rated?

Endless inferior extensions just make .COM that much more in demand and more valuable.

If you have the .COM you don't really need any other extension.

Is the .COM the Motorola and Nokia of yester years?
And if so what is the next Gen?
btw I have 100% of money on .COM right now.
And want to see if there is a new trend Really emerging.

I sell many non .COM extensions BTW like NET/ORG/US and even some .BIZ and .INFO.
There is just no comparison to .COM.

Good .COM are like houses on the beach. Building a bunch of lower quality houses inland doesn't effect demand for the best option.

Since you are in Australia, you should consider investing in .com.au. Next to .com, ccTLDs do best.

ccTLDs over ngTLDs, correct. More stability. That’s if you dabble in non-com

We do, have 1800 .com.au and possibly 30+ .net.au
But .net.au get 0 interest unless it is a One word.

Additionally, it should be emphasized that you cannot compare domains or DNS to any other technology like Nokia, Motorola or BlackBerry. These are not even in the same world. Think of domains as vanity plates on your car. Will they ever stopped being used? The car will change and upgrade but the plate doesn't have to. You can still use the same plate.

.Com is the only top domain.

.Com is the only top domain.

.COM is the only commercial extension. Most of the ngTLDs are for utilitarian purposes to suplemenet .com. Such as .support, .tech, .forum. But none are meant to completely replace .com. Their purpose is to create a direct link to a specific section or a complemantery location of the main brand. The only exception is ccTLD domains, some of which have found alternative uses to .com. But .com will never be taken over by another extension. Any startup or company using anything other than .com will be viewed as inferior and will have an uphill battle. Unless their customers are local and they are using the right ccTLD.
