Hi,

just registered the domain because Domain King owns a similar H-o-u-s-e-s.com since 1998. I think my domain is better and I offered H-O-M-E-S.COM for $125 just a quick flip.. not respnded yet. :)

Thoughts?
Why do Pros are keeps renewing such domains? What a reason?

Hi

registering domains because a persona` owns similar name, is not a rational motive.

he has the bankroll to finance crap names for years, do you?
.

imo...

Why all the hyphens? Self-inflicted injuries multiple times. I’d liquidate this.

@ReallyBigIdea.com yeah, probably SEO. Or people who really liked a keyword but the non-hyphenated version was way out of their price range and this is the closest they could afford. Also lots of people buy names they fall in love with (I’ve done this) and then find out they’re the only ones who love it.

it seems to be seo not working for such names. Google can not recognize hyphens

3. SEO?
It’s a common myth, actually, that hyphens in domain names hurts your SEO. While search engines such as Google tend to keep their exact algorithms—their secret sauce—under wraps, it can be surmised based on past statements by Google employees that hyphens in domain names have no impact on their rankings (while this is old information, there hasn’t been any particular trend since this was released to suggest Google would have changed their policy).

Similarly, it’s been suggested that domains that are too long don’t rank as well in search engines. There may be some correlation there, but there’s no indication of a causal link.

I don't know.

I checked siteprice.org and it values h-o-m-e-s.com at $7313. This greatly surprises me but I just started using siteprice and I can't say the numbers have impressed me. Anyway, it looks like there's a bunch of keywords associated with your domain.
https://www.siteprice.org/website-worth/h-o-m-e-s.com

I also checked ahrefs backlink checker and it has just 0 DR, 11 backlinks and 2 referring domains. So almost zero juice.

Nice. When and where were they sold? If fairly recent (within 1 yr), you've got some sale possibilities there!

So you didn’t list it, @ReallyBigIdea.com ? (Godaddy listed Bitcoin.com for sale recently and the owner had to tell them publicly to take it down because he hadn’t listed it)

If so, contact Epik to take it down. You may have to verify with a verification code from your Epik account in a TXT DNS record.

What’s your reasoning about it being deeply manipulated? I want to understand.

According GoValue
t-h-i-n-k .com
Sold for $488 (USD)

f-l-a-s-h .com
Sold for $800 (USD)

m-e-d-i-a .com sold for $688

H-O-M-E-S.COM is much valuable than those. If it didn't sold for low $xx it means the investing in domains is highly speculative and no real value.

Not sure I’d agree with how you went from that to your conclusion. I mean there’s speculation and there’s definitely a ton of bad names but to say domains have no real value is a stretch. I shake my head at typo domains that are registered as well as sold but apparently some people see value in those. If we want to participate in the market, we have to accept that value or beauty is really in the eye of the beholder. I’m not saying everything is gold but it ain’t all crap either. What we have to do is minimize risk and increase probability of sale. I stay away from hyphenated names, especially when they hyphenate a word into single characters but hey, there’s people who’ll pay more for those than I am paying for good non-hyphenated names. 🤷‍♀️
