I went down a rabbit hole last night that resulted in me "accidentally" buying a domain that contains a trademark. (To be honest, I didn't even consider it). To rectify this, I immediately deleted the domain through GoDaddy. Do you think I have any liability at this point? I am of course scared of receiving a UDRP and losing my house. Can anyone help put my mind at ease? :)

If you deleted it, nothing bad can happen to you.

What’s the risk of owning a domain that is trademarked? I thought you could just lose the domain.

Yeah, not only you'll lose a house - you are looking at 20 years to life in prison. :)

C'mon, man. Nothing would happen to you. UDRP arbitrage is a long process, and they have to prove you obtained the name in bad faith, use it for a long period to make money or was cybersquatting etc. Lots of papers, time and money (which of course large companies have), but no one would seriously go after you unless you really do some nasty things and for a time, with this domain.
And as far as I know (and after you refuse to give up the name voluntarily many times), finally they can get your domain only, as UDRP itself is not an actual court.

If you're merely selling it, no worries - worst case they UDRP and take it from you.

If you make a competitor website or hack site or whatever that on the name, well, that's a different thing.
