Hello,
Not sure if changes are happening at dropcatch. They were pretty good at catching domains in the past. So confident in using Dropcstch I don't use any others. If that is a vote of confidence in a company I don't know what is. Any company should be lucky to have customers go with only their service with all the obvious options available.

With that sad it is disappointing that regularly now Dropcatch has missed many of my backorders.

My paranoid side is always suspicious of everything especially when big money is involved. Depending on the domain we're talking big big money.

When big money is involved it is too tempting to do bad things. This is what triggers the suspicious untrusted side.

So here's a list of domains dropcatch has missed.

Why is such a big company like dropcatch missing these domains? Why are they getting beat by Netsol? Or sites like Octopusdomains.net?

Here's one recently that I notified Dropcatch I had ordered backorders for. After creating a stink over losing backorders and missing backorders in my account that I swear I had ordered here's a one that they missed. I kinda regret it now making sure they knew I ordered it.

I create thread out of a need for an explanation as to why such a big company gets beaten by tiny ones in grabbing these domains? It was not created as malice or ill will or revenge but more for transparency so that people see the public info and decide for themselves. If I'm totally wrong here then good, I apologize but this is getting a bit too much to not start wondering.

I really do hope my suspicions are wrong here but my "spidey" senses are tingling right now with missed drops happening on the regular now with dropcatch.com and not for so so mediocre domains by for some big money ones. At least in my opinion.

I have more but I only mention the ones where the registrar is Netsol and also Snapnames and web.com

Can anyone tell me if they see something suspect here with the new whois for these domains?
Are web.com, snapnames.com, networksolutions.com connected in some way? I think not right? Never can tell these days.

Also please share your own missed Dropcatch backorders. Thanks

You rely too much on DropCatch.

Have you ever Snapnames?

They caught eshop.com

Typically I would disagree.

Again. Dropcatch should appreciate the loyalty of this customer that never thought of using other dropcatch services until recently. I guess I'm going to have to.

Also I will hate have to track the companies I have dropcatch accounts with. I tried one a while back the. Forgot the name of the company. Ended up not renewing the domain a year later

I rather stick to one and one that's the best and set it and forget it.

Just too complicated tracking say 5 to 7 dropcatch services. Not about being too reliant but more about being lazy lol.

So do you see anything fishy with the current whois? Also what domains have dropcatch missed for you?

As far as I know Web, Netsol and Snapnames are one and the same.

I only use Snapnames.
Whoever you use its just a raffle really so no one company is a guarantee (although the bigger companies have a better chance it's still not a given). Why not place your backorders everywhere that doesn't require payment upfront to maximise your chances?

Must be exhausting being so sceptical/cynical/paranoid. Chill out.

Dropcatch had the best software. But inevitably, others including some new entrants, from what I can gather, are catching up.

Snapnames and Namejet (both part of .web, along with Netsol who end up as the registrar when either of them win) have been winning drops consistently. It appears you have been very lucky with Dropcatch to date. They do win more than anybody else but not all by a very long stretch. Next is Snapnames. But neither is invincible. Keep an eye on the newcomers.

If, to use your own words, you are too idle to to use all of them, not just the two biggest, you are going to lose names. Added to which, as Dropcatch win more than anybody else, more people use them so you have more competition in the auctions which ensue and have to pay more for the domains you win.

As far as I know Web, Netsol and Snapnames are one and the same.

Indeed they are. And .web was the owner of them, Namejet and a few more. .web were bought out recently so that part of the industry is consolidating further.

Good names will either be caught by DC or SN. So when DC doesn't catch it obviously it will be caught by SN because nobody else can beat DC.

All my backorders now I do via both DC and SN, DC still gets most.
