This stuff is quickly going from a trend to complete nonsense -

Why Did Someone Pay $560,000 for a Picture of My Column?

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/26/technology/nft-sale.html

Bidding on NFTs, he said, had become a kind of sport among cryptocurrency enthusiasts, many of whom have been sitting on huge virtual piles of Ethereum and Bitcoin for years. Every NFT auction produces a public record of bids, and high-profile auctions can attract a crowd of people just hoping to be noticed among the losers.

“The bid itself is becoming marketing,” he said.

But Mr. Agrawal clarified that some bids were less strategic, and more about showing off.

“A lot of the NFT buyers at this high level are fabulously wealthy, and they’re just collecting for the sake of collecting,” he said.

With that said, as a domain investor you can still possibly capitalize on the lunacy.

The craziest nonfungible token sales so far

https://www.cnet.com/news/nft-bubble-the-craziest-nonfungible-token-sales-so-far/

NFT farts.... :xf.confused:

$85 for a fart
When COVID-19 lockdown began last March, Brooklyn filmmaker Alex Ramírez-Mallis and four friends did the obvious thing: Started sending audio recordings of their farts to one another through a WhatsApp group chat. One year later, Ramírez-Mallis is auctioning 52 minutes of audio flatulence as an NFT.

The auction's starting price: $85. Would you pay $85 for farts? Would be a solid investment if you did, since someone out there was ultimately willing to pay 0.24 ethereum, or about $420, for the NFT. What's more, in addition to selling the 52-minute recording, he's also selling NFTs for individual farts. Several have been sold, including Fart #420 for about $90.

"If people are selling digital art and GIFs, why not sell farts?" Ramírez-Mallis told the New York Post. Truer words, never spoken.

Yep, this is exactly what will happen, the same as all these niches. Its always hyped up in the beginning, all because of a few ridiculous sales by, as Brad said, fabulously wealthy people.

I see lot of new domainers and even some experienced people buying up the left-overs for some reason. These names wont sell. I will get told off Im sure for telling people for stop buying these names but the exact same thing happened with the VR niche and people told me "this niche is different" bla blah and sure enough theyre stuck with 100s and even 1000's of names they cant sell. I'm just saying be careful and try buy a couple of decent names from people who bought them in 2018/2019.

@gilescoley perfect thing to compare to remember VR you couldn't buy VR names fast enough any dumb Keyword with vr was selling so fast yet now even good vr domains are sitting ^^

also i wouldn't buy from resellers they all seem to have unrealistic expectations for the pricing

Yeah but the crap VR sales were all between domainers, not end user sales and they mainly low xx and xxx sales. Good VR names constantly get offers but owners wont sell them yet, its still too early, waot intol VR is mainstream, unless of course you get a good xx,xxx offer.

You are right !
My analysis VR will come into action once the Vr comes into reality into our daily life, till then it will sea-sawing. But I'm sure that we will see it sooner or later.

I also have animal related, hope to see good ROI in times to come.
So as I said earlier that some good news will soon expected, so here is the jump of NFTs started and what a nice jump that too from a stylish horse, as horse is always jump big.
Now time is for more jumps will start coming. And these jumps will also merge with DeFi and Metaverse related domains. Keep watching and enjoy the ride.
Congratulations to the seller !

I'm not sure which horse will win the race, so I'm betting on the horse race itself.
I think the safest play is to buy Ethereum itself and just hold mid to long term..

As the owner of a digital asset (domain name) whose sale will likely to top all NFT (and domain name) - sales, it is amusing to watch the NFT - market while thinking about which smart billionaire / contemporary art - collector will end up buying it.

IMHO, technology wise NFT is great, it can solve product verification or authenticity problem in any supply chain, whether it's digital goods or physical goods - I know this for a fact as I'm a developer myself. So ultimately, we'll most likely see many different types of implementations of NFTs.

However, the recent hype is probably just that, a huge hype. Although, once the bubble is burst and dust is settled, I think it'll still be valuable in the decentralized market of digital goods, like art, music etc. and in supply chain. So same should apply for NFT domain names.

I agree that a lot of unrelated NFT+word or word+NFT domains will remain unsold, but at the same time, we will most likely see some very good domain purchase records in decent volumes.

Personally I'm quite new to domaining, so obviously I don't have old NFT domains, but ended up hand registering a few .com a couple of days ago:

ClassNFT
ClassyNFT
TheNFTCoin
TheNFTCrypto

If these get sold over 2/3 years, then great, if not then I'll develop something on my own using them. So I see a win-win situation for me with these NFT domains.

Also, my advice to people jumping into the buying/registering spree of NFT domains with all sorts of keywords:

  1. Please study some NFT and Blockchain fundamentals first. That way, you'll be able to find some good value combinations thinking about the future prospects (yes, most good ones are already registered, but a few decent ones may still be left).
  2. If you cannot find a good combination for hand registration, wait for the bubble to burst. At that point, some people will sell decent NFT names at a lower price in the aftermarket. Buy at that time so that you may sell during the next bubble (yes, just like every other bubble, there will most likely be a next bubble).

Just sharing my own opinion (with all due respect to all other valuable opinions), in case this view point is helpful to anyone.

All the best.

Nearly all good NFT domains were taken long before the recent hype.
Defi domains are about to go the same way

So much absurdity combined into one NFT...

'TIGER KING' STAR JEFF LOWEPRESSING ON WITH JOE EXOTIC NFT SALE...

https://www.tmz.com/2021/03/30/joe-...eff-lowe-legal-beef-drama-non-fungible-token/

I am sure in the future when you go to the store assets will be priced in "Tiger King" tokens.

It is hard to decide between this and the Bhad Babie NFT.

https://hypebeast.com/2021/3/bhad-bhabie-cash-me-outside-meme-nft-auction

NFT are quickly becoming the new Only Fans or Patreon for celebrities to try and make money without adding much if any value.

Ok got some interest in the domain name:

N/F/T Trading (.com)

Pretty much a company who sells nft trading cards asking how much I am looking for.

Would appreciate some opinions. If you owned it how much would you be shooting for?

It should be high compare to NFTTech.
My advise try to find more / check the profile of the company who is interested in buying ? and if they are serious in their business then decide accordingly.
But if they only need to park it to avoid any future competition, chances they will not give more.
But as I always said, as far as NFT, DeFi, Metaverse, VASP etc.Do NOT sell for less.
Fix your target and go ahead confidently and I'm sure you will get what you are looking for as you are good successful seller with smart tactics.
Good Luck & Best wishes !
