Penny promotion was for only 1 month, i guess. Later on we have to pay .99 usd.

All they were not regged for .99 usd. So many domains were dropcaught, participated in auctions.

99 cents isn't bad either. I would pay that price for 10-12k single keyword XYZ domains annual without any regrets. Happy for you, you are the only one who is doing very well with the XYZs, I had like a few 100 of them decent ones registered for an year and not a single offer on any of them. I let them all drop, maybe luck matters as well in some places.

One thing I must say is that the lead's geographical area map shown in SH didn't seem to match up. The buyer country shows to be DK per the WHOIS but the SH was showing area around NIGERIA for the lead. Otherwise I would have countered the full list price.

Would a VPN get around it? Pretty clever if they did that to try and lower the price......

Maybe not, it's most likely the use of some outdated geolocation tech at SH unless the Denmark national was travelling to Nigeria to meet the Nigerian prince who wants to share his fortune. :xf.smile: No offence to Nigerians though.

Nice XYZ sales, as usual.
Presently, it's very tough to register a good single keyword XYZ that's not a registry premium.
You have all these names from the starting days when most XYZ were available for pennies? Or you have been paying the registry premium fees on these all?

didnt xyz have premiums since beginning? plus minus few names..

I mean it's not like .co where they made stuff prem a year or so ago.

I think this seller once clarified somewhere it is a game of numbers and larger folio... or so I recall.

a strategy of large folio can sometimes payoff.

tho the renewal Costs are just as spectacular as sales often. I speak in general.. I know nothing about this seller overall costs.. profits etc..

most do not wish to share such info as total costs...
profits.. tho some write detailed threads about it..but I know from my own experience too that making sales while having large folio and tons of renewals can basically put zero roi..or even negative.. I have been running a negative roi few years into my domaining venture. with peak folio size around 5k at some point.

this is why imo roi on a single sale or roi say annually are the most important things about domainer... not my 4k sale last week..or 2k sale next month...

we should all do like Forbes magazine and put a number in our profile that says worth..which is like last full year roi we made .. or overall roi since we domain...... thatd be..well.. interesting huh? :) would sure put into perspective each sale we post here.. else.. what does that mean if one makes 5k in sales per month if he spends 70k per year on domains..well it means he got -10k roi per year... so now suddenly his remarkable 5k sales per month are not so cool anymore... see what I mean...

Not sure but I have seen them revise prices upwards for registry premiums. Plus, they added a lot more percentage of names to the registry premiums. Amongst those, I owned cars.xyz and hotels.xyz for an year or two without a single offer. And I paid about $1200 annual per name on those.

ah yes and on top of it and unlike .co luckily...xyz also has prem renewals.. I forgot..

not only we pay 1000 to reg good keyword..then 1000 each yr to keep it.. they must be making good money..domainers not so much

My country isn’t famous for email scams, stop being ridiculous already. You don’t judge a country by the silly doings of a few.

There are a lot of other Nigerians doing positive things. The just confirmed Director-General of the world trade organization is a Nigerian, the doctor leading pfizer’s vaccine COVID-19 development is a Nigerian in america, I don’t want to litter this thread I’ll have mentioned Nigerians doing great things even in America.

Enough of the stereotype already.

Nigeria must be a wonderful country my friend, I am sure, and I intended no insult to Nigerians in general. It was so stated in my response as well. We don't need to make a mountain out of a molehill.

I myself have received so many spam mails over the years from a NIGERIAN PRINCE wanting to share his fortune that it instantly jumped to my mind when the lead location showed up as Nigeria. So, I had just mentioned about the NP character in general, it wasn't a comment on Nigerians. You only need to google the term. Best wishes.

I don't have twitter or LinkedIn. Well until yesterday. In the middle of setting them up at a slow pace.

So my activities should be considered zero:ROFL:

I personally don't like stereotypes because more often than not it is just a replication of the 'single story' syndrome.

All white American males are not the KKK. All Arabs are not terrorists. All Africans are not poor. And all Nigerians are not scam artists.

But if I go with what the media depicts on a daily basis, it's easy to believe those stereotypes they paint at the detriment of the majority who just want to go about their businesses, unencumbered.

how many xyz sold posts do u see? there is your answer as to how good an investment it is.

the lucky break for all who misinvest in it is that they only waste 1$ or less to reg it. but make no mistake.. it is a waste at any amount for domain investor.

especially with dngear already owning anything with at least some sale chance bahahahah

There are gems in this extension available to buy on the aftermarket for reasonable pricing. I recently bought Lucky (xyz)

which in essence means... increase yer sale ads investing elsewhere.
