Hi,

I had a question regarding .io domain. I have a business idea in tech and I wanted to buy a good .io. I read thougj that .io might not actually work anymore because the UN is suing the UK, saying that the british Indian Ocean territory is not theres.

Is there an issue buying .io? Or are other domains such as .com or .xyz better?

I am new to this so any help I d appreciate it. My idea is in tech, which is why .io is appealing.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it. .su is still available to register although Soviet Union has been dissolved for 30 years

Always go with .com if you can ...unless it’s green dot com ...org becomes more suitable

Hi I can buy .com too. It is only 10 euros

.io from what I've seen though is used with tech

My concern was .ios being taken down and that harming my business. But it looks like that .io is safe

Your business alone represents more than the extension ...

Thras.io total funding amount up to $896.5M
Branch.io – raised $367M, valued at over $1B
Apiary.io – raised $14.6M, acquired by Oracle
Keen.io – raised $29M, exited to Scaleworks
Card.io – acquired by PayPal
Castle.io – SF-based security company that has raised $11.6M to-date
And the list goes on.

Startup now are buying one word dot io for 6 figure and they are building there brand in this extension.
So who should be worry? You or these Millions dollar companies ?
