Bought the domain YOAL.com today from a member on here @ZeDiM , paid via paypal and domain not delivered. Think he is trying to sell the domain to other on here! Sent numerous messages to management but don't think they are bothered as nothing has been done!

Now the member is posting numerous negative feedback for me!

I don't mind losing my money, just don't want other to get sucked in!

yes, he's been coming up with excuses one after another! Funny enough, another member on here posted positive feedback for him this morning just before he listed it for sale! Connected? Seems a bit suspicious to me!

It's simple: Seller claims for paypal FF or crypto, instantly activates defensive alarms. I have lost at past $80 with those scammers. They know that if you pay them via FF they can escape with your money. Lesson learnt, i win the auction and always ask them to transfer the domain first. I did the same with this guy.

Take it as a lesson. Just don't pay members with zero or very low trade reviews. I think that NP should stop them asking FF. At least, until they complete some number of positive reviews. Again, i recommend avoiding FF for obvious reasons. Again, no FF and no crypto payments to members with zero feedback.

I really DO mind losing my money. It brings me pain. They can trap you even if you are experienced member, as you and me. This trick is well known and they do it again and again here. Be careful. They know that the cheese is the domain. Don't be the rat.

@Bravo Mod Team
PLEASE DON'T ALLOW FOR NEW MEMBERS (AT LEAST) TO ASK FF PAYPAL AS PAYMENT.

The scam was obvious right from the onset

Ask yourself... Would you pay $10,000 for a Ferrari to a random guy you never saw before just because he's standing next to it and pretending he's the owner? :xf.rolleyes:

In your case, it's the same exact scam attempt, but simply applied at a different scale to make it affordable and more appealing.

These scammers have absolute 0 ethical sense and don't care about their reputation. They hide behind new accounts and/or fake names online. Even if very suspicious, they know it's too tempting for some people to seize the opportunity.

NEVER pay upfront if
1- You don't know the seller
2- Seller doesn't have at least XX positive feedbacks from trustable members with XX positive feedbacks as well

Think it is about time that management make people upload their passport or id before being able to come on here, it's just a free for all at the minute! Nevermind!

Did you try to buy as well? Think he was selling to everyone...

No, I didn't pay. I asked for transfer codes first, he declined, I then asked for Dan escrow, he declined. Obviously he came to scam

@mrcurly I really feel bad about your money loss. I know the feeling being helpless. I sent e-mail on PP when i got scammed, but nothing. Unfortunately. They know very well what they are doing. Just follow the simple rules on your next transactions. At the end of the day, you are a successful domainer and he will not have money soon.

This is very bad, and so many were fighting to get scammed to.

I got robbed by a member on here from the domain Txeo.com in other words, I won the name, it got robbed by some member that DM'ed the seller. The member that robbed the name has over 10k names, they should've known better and maybe one day ill see what my legal options are. In the meantime if anyone comes across this by googling txeo.com just know the risks before buying it.

a lot of people in that now closed thread tried to rob and steal from each other. I saw that edit, I saw what happened, disgraceful not just from the scammers side but from others too. Probably one of the worst things I witnessed on here.

We should have to upload our passport and id to participate in this community imo....plus live picture if required, makes it safe for domainers as that's what the forum is about right?

Scammers would love that, it would give everyone a false sense of security. How hard is it to upload some stolen id's?

The only way to deal with new members or low history is escrow (with escrow.com dan.com etc) or if they transfer first (not just initiate transfer).

I remember stating that people should be careful on that thread or at least have the domain transferred first. But, my comment was rightly deleted by the MOD team seeing as comments are not allowed on auction threads.

Every other month, these guys come here with new accounts and 4Ls that they own and have no intention of ever transferring.

A while back, it was Sakz.com. Yesterday, it was Yoal.com. Chances are in a month or two, some new account will come peddling another 4L.com.

Err on the side of caution. Always request for the domain first. Once, you have it transferred to your registrar, then, you can go ahead and pay them.

For the victims, sorry for your losses

IMO this is a problem that payment processors should handle, not public forums such as NP. They are way better equipped, but they just aren't held accountable (yet).
