The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
In the post, as is usual with Rick's posts there is some great observations and advice for both experienced and newbie domainers alike.

I decided to read every word (not speed read) and it is probably the first domain article I've read start to finish in 3 years.

You are right...it has good info for all stages of domain investors and I plan to apply some of it today when looking at renewals.

It is dead on the money.

You always see domainers compare domain sales to their domains, usually in a totally irrelevant manner.

Ex.

Cars.com sold for 50m. That should really help my domain, ShopForCarsOnline.net. :xf.smile:

You see that constantly.

he can say what he wants but he ain't fooling me that he actually goes thru every email offer he gets... therefore knows all names offered to him.. tho I agree 99% of em are crap prolly.

I'm no pro ..nor newbie.. but this talk is obviously directed at total newbies.. and it's so obvious everybody who was domaining and on np for a while knows this.

still..good read if u started domaining last night.

Ok, least he puts the noobies on the right path.
I wonder if he'll address the automatic appraisers next lol.
They emphasized as much, if not more, than "keyword sales" This guy is the man, not afraid to say it like it is, my favorite part, it feels like he stresses "No NDA" I love this guy. I also think, when it comes to staying involved with the business somehow, while still selling stake; #1 too!
@Rick Schwartz you write a book yet? I'd so totally buy it :)
know he likely wont reply, i tried Lol :)

Rick Schwartz has put up a new blog post:

ENOUGH! Just Cuz A Domain with a Keyword Sells Does Not increase the value of your Domain! | The Rick Schwartz Domain Name and Traffic Blog: RicksBlog.com - Home of The Domain King®

In the post, as is usual with Rick's posts there is some great observations and advice for both experienced and newbie domainers alike.

You might disagree with some of Rick's views - but you should never ignore them.
Stop worshiping him. It is just mere luck that he happened to sell his domains for big numbers. It really doesn’t require a rocket science brain. You could have a superior domain but won’t be able to sell. It all depends on what is decreed to you by God.

firstly it's not god..but gods..and yer right..he ain't one of them... anyone who got this early into domain investing could be where he is... it's all downhill from there once u make few millions from.few names and still got tons valuable ones left... its just a human being like rest of us...except he own cool domains. heheh

There is no such thing as Gods. You don’t have Presidents for United States. You just have one president. Hence you don’t have Gods for the universe. The owner is just one.

well that's certainly a killer argument ain't it.. that there is one god cause there is one president... i rest my case..

p.s. I'm just pulling your leg here... people who are too serious about god are ones who got it all wrong ...cause when all said and done..and all shortage of toilet paper has forced us all to use bible pages to wipe... we all finish by realizing.. that truly there is no god but man.

The real secret is that he uses domain names brokers. That's what I've heard I've never heard him tallk about that ever.
