No one. A criminal was shot committing a violent crime, trying to break into a secured part of the capitol building during an insurrection. For someone with a military record you would assume she should know how to listen to authority. Oh well.

You realize that the loose definition of insurrection and coup needed to qualify the Jan. 6 protestors is the kind of definition that dictators and authoritarian states use to arrest and murder protestors? Of course, it would also apply to those who attack say, a federal building in Portland. So there seems a discrepancy in how the definition is applied.

But do remember that dictators refer to protestors this way - and that senate, presidential and parliamentary buildings are often the sites of protests that become a little violent. Most people see through such claims as an excuse to smash dissent.

It's especially sad to see Americans embrace the language of dictators.

The part Trumpers don't understand is basically T campaigned against himself. The final count proved voters (far more bi-partisan btw) were tired of his 3 years+ bullying antics - abuse, humiliation and offense.

The difference being in both TIMING and LOCALE. One was to cancel a crutial vote in the capitol (insurrection), the other during a special session (non-peaceful protest). In both cases, rather than peacefully protesting outside, people stormed inside. Both instaces cited being organized and/or provoked by Right Wing leaders, but in due fairness, either side had a kick at the cat
