Got my second domain sale today! New Orleans + 2 keywords .com for $300.00 to end user. I emailed 28 companies and got a call and closed the deal.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
you do that when you sell to resellers and not endusers Kemji. I sold it to reseller and was well aware of that ;)
By your rule then there is no money left on the payed.in sale, because that buyer isnt a reseller, and by your rule you only leave money on the table when you sell to resellers, and this buyer is not a reseller.
Also, why sell good end user potential names to resellers?? you're a pro, c'mon bro(no rhyme intended).

it was mentioned in the article I quoted above that the startup is being operated from payed.co.in

plus, payed.in is now listed for sale on daaz.com for $12,000
That was my 12k listing on Daaz, just deleted it..

What? Where did I state all these rules you speak of? I sold the domain for huge profit for an amount that worked for me and I'm happy with, end of story, bro.

Looks like he was replying/referring to a different rulebook 😉

Thanks Mike for clarifying and sharing a great sale with all of us. Best wishes and much more success!

That wasn't who bought it, they had me send an invoice/receipt on Sedo so I know their name. Good catch though, for $5 reg fee and one renewal I won't beat myself up too much for possibly leaving some dough on the table. ;)

Kemji, I ain’t no pro in .IN space (have a handful names only) like you and many others. So just trying to understand Mike’s approach behind the sale.

Mike has just clarified that the listing over at Daaz was his own which has thus been deleted.

Domain: H/a/d/l/e/y(.)eu
Sale price: $595
Sale venue: Afternic
Purchase price: $0.99 (handreg)
Hold time: 4 months

To my surprise, one of my .eu names has just been sold on Afternic :) I had originally thought that a .eu domain can only be sold on Dan or Sedo, but I always list all my .eu names on Afternic anyway. The funny thing is that even though the name servers were set to Dan lander, and SEDO MLS is activated, and the domain was listed for 299 GBP and 299 EUR, respectively, for some reason the buyer chose to buy the domain on Afternic for $595. That's weird, but I can't complain :)

I already sold 4 .eu domains in 2021, so I'll try to invest more in this niche. My .eu portfolio size is now 125 (including the 4 sales). Considering the slow sales of my brandable names and the difficulty of registering decent .co domains, maybe .eu will save the day in 2021 :)

so who can reg eu? If restricted then are there registrars that offer proxy

as I know for example we can use unireg to own co.uk

The restrictions are quite strict, if you're not a resident of the EU, you are not allowed to register or own or renew any .eu domain. I'm from EU (and I hope my country will remain in EU forever LOL), so I didn't need to check if there is any proxy service for that purpose. But I think Uniregistry does not offer such a service for .eu, when I check out there, there's the following message:

It's a misspelt hyphenated domain (unless he has missed out the "y" as a typo), he got his money back plus a little extra and he is fairly new......cut him some slack.......

As there is no minimum $ requirement we will have to grin and bear it - tbf not many people post these kind of sales that often....

I agree that I would not be that overjoyed to see 100's or 1000's of them but sometimes if it is a first sale or one of their first then let them have that moment in the sun and share their excitement :xf.wink:

When I reported my first sale I only made around £80 :xf.confused: in profit and was so over the moon I dedicated a whole thread to it :xf.eek:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/a-tale-of-2-sales-my-first-two-ever.1080536

I was much more eloquent back then :xf.rolleyes:

When you first start any profit is profit, breaking even is good enough - but yeah don't make a habit about it, we can agree on that (y)

Edit:

We are so far off topic - I can see a lot of clearing up to be done!

80gbp is another matter. I'm always happy too to make something like 100usd.

but 15..or getting money back... that's the kind of excitement I'd not be making public. well its bit offtopic but at same time i think it's important 15usd sales do not become habit here. well that's it from me on this... I'm gonna go watch btc break 53k now and wish I had one hahaha ciao
