I got an offer for a 4 letter Acronym in Spain's ES extension.

For 5000$ in Godaddy.

The name is related to Crypto. And ES is the most Used extension in Spain the same as .de is for Germany. I work in Spanish Company with Spanish So I know.

ok- I like to have faith in my domainers community, so let's reveal the name. It is - DEFI.ES

You know Defi, right? Isn't it a high-value keyword with high potential within the year 2025? I was determined to renew it till 2025 at least. Already have renewed it once.

But I am not accepting it for 5 k or for 20k US$.

Because you know I will have to wait & refuse several good offers to win the jackpot of the lifetime, right? Moreover, we are not Rick Schwartz with numerous high-value domain to sell in millions. So, I must be brave enough to refuse the 5k-10k-20k $ offer if I want a mega 50/75/100k sale for defi.es.

So, What option should I select now- Counter offer or push to Auction?

What is the benefit of push to Auction?

Will it get more domainers seeing this domain for sale?

Will potential End-user might get news about the auction?

Or I select the Counteroffer & ask for 50k or 100k $.

Is there any way to directly contact the interested buyer? Or I will have to totally depend on Godaddy?

Although I used Epik lander with my email ID, nobody contacted me. I hope he types defi.es in his browser & sees that & think of emailing me.

please share your opinion & thoughts.

Hello Ariff

Thanks for sharing I think Crypto related domains will boom in coming years. I also own some domains like BitcoinPrediction.com and BitcoinMedium.com and won't be thinking to sell them below 10k.

Highest defi sale (em) was in .org for 5K in 2019. Keep that in mind. Good offer to work with. Either go long term and turn it down or negotiate if you want the cash.

Don't put it to auction.

Good morning. Take the money now and run and run.

It is a bi-language domain hack. These do not sell for big numbers. Check previous sales. Statistics don't lie.

It makes no sense in Spanish as they would not say 'Decentralized Finance' i.e. 'Defi'.

They would say something similar to 'Finanzas Descentralizadas' i.e. 'Fide'.

You are limiting your potential as few in Spain or South America will buy this name as it makes no sense in their language.

This is of course just my limited opinion and you should consider all views before making your decision.

I wish you every success.

Reddstagg

That was criminally under priced and before Defi really started to take off......adoption levels are rising, funding is increasing, awareness is growing.......

I'm not going to offer a opinion on pricing the OP has clearly made his mind up in that regards

Do not push it to auction, just counter and go from there - if it was via Godaddy Auction site you can write comments and negotiate that way.....

if we assumed you bought this name for $200 . ( maybe less )
counter 17000 , if they accepted then OK .
if they counterd back less than 10000 , then you counter 12000 as final price .
12000 as a final price is ok , around 1800 comission for godaddy , domain cost assumed = 200 .
you will get 10000 pure profit . fair enough and RUN .

Accept the offer > take the money > run > invest the money

Less than a week ago I received a 150 thousand euro offer for a crypto-related .Com domain registered in 2008 (before bitcoin existed). The buyer has not initiated action to make payment so the sale has been cancelled. When I received the offer I told my wife but confessed the offer was likely not legit.

I hate when that happens.

Lot more news and activity happening in China when it comes to decentralized Finance than in Spain from what I read......if anyone can say differently then share some info in the Defi thread

Gives a good benchmark in regards to relatively recent pricing

Thanks. Not following the niche that closely. Nice flip. 50K ain't that bad although I think it hasn't reached its full potential yet. I wouldn't have sold for 5. 50 is definitely tempting :)

2-3 days ago a de-fi.xx domain was sold on Dan.com. Unfortunately, I don't remember what the extension was.

What is the Drawbacks of push to Auction with 1 bid of 5k?

If you are happy with $5K then you should absolutely push to auction, just in case another bidder comes along. The drawback is that other interested parties will likely not see the auction, and it will probably end at $5K.

If you are interested in getting more money from the single interested potential-buyer you should counter instead of pushing to auction.

$5000 offer means it is worth more imo. Only going to go up in value if you ask me.

He is either interested or not. An interested party even if you counter with a billion dollars will reply to that counter even if its again to offer the 5k. The fear to counter high is why most will never make money in any business that involves offers.

The bigger issue here is the waiting to reply to the offer. Guy probably lost interest in his idea or moved on to some other name. This is not a business where waiting will help you, its not a one of a kind work of art, people with ideas can lose interest in their idea or someone else can talk them out of the name or price. They might also see many names for 500-1500 and it will bring down the value of yours in their mind.

Counter with 100k but know that if they don't reply, they wouldn't reply if you countered with 6k either. The waiting will kill this deal more than any counter.
