I'm guessing domains listed on Dan but not using their landers are shunted to the bottom of the search results or not even shown in the search results. Not a single view on any domain !
Dear @doofer,

This is not the case at all. However, we have over 10 million domains listed on the marketplace. Not using our For Sale pages, thus the indexing of our pages, means you will have to compete with quite some inventory. We therefore always recommend using our For Sale pages as it will increase your chances of selling significantly.

Have a great week!

@LaszloSchenk A suggestion, not sure if this is already in the place.

When we add a name to our account which was in someone else's DAN account, import the leads along with the domain to the new account it's been added to.

The new owner might want to strike a deal with a lead that inquired when the domain was owned by past owner.

Good morning @UmerK

Thank you for your suggestion and I do understand the added value of it. The downside is that we have to protect the privacy of the former owner. In addition, the lead might no longer want to get contacted regarding the domain when some time has passed. However, I will relay the feedback to our product team as perhaps some different configuration of the proposed idea could be realized.

Have a great day.

Almost 24hrs since Domain got transferred
Dear @Sandra19,

We do not have any delays. We always process the payouts within 1 business day after giving the notification on average.

Best regards,

@frank-germany, I am aware we offer the instalment option as well. However, I am referring to the rental option. When you go to your portfolio view you find three circular symbols behind each name:
- (P) = parked
- (IN) = instalmments
- (R) = rental

Click on the R and you can activate the rental for that specific domain.
.

Came across a domain that had renting 'enabled'. Got curious, since I never knew this option even existed and I had to search on NamePros to find this old quote on how to enable it. You might want to consider adding this info to the helpcenter/documentation.

Also, is there a guide that describes the 'adding your own leads' escrow process in detail? There's no documentation for it. And I would like to know exactly what happens, so I can explain the process to buyers. It's unprofessional if I have to tell a buyer that I don't know the exact steps. Better yet, a short explainer video would be ideal for this (and for some other processes as well).

Lastly, for Google Analytics it would be extremely helpful to enable eventtracking on buttons, links etc. That should be relatively easy to implement.

Would be also great to see Microsoft Clarity integration on DAN. Squadhelp WLM has it and I'm impressed with how useful this data is. When you see recordings of user behavior on a page it's much easier to tell where is bot and where is human. It tremendously helps to decide whether to renew domain or drop it.

Good morning @NTLK,

Thank you for checking in with us and you are absolutely right. The team currently has already been working on a brand new FAQ showing all these details. In addition, we will be launching many instruction videos in order to help our users and make them much more tangible. It should not take long before these will get released.

I will relay the request regarding Google Analytics to our product team as well as the request from @GoodKindName as I understand the value of it.

Have a great week ahead!

Some suggestions ;

Please activate 2FA as soon as possible, with the data leaks around the world accounts run a risk of being compromised.

Whenever payout setting is updated, inform us by email.

Is there a way or a plan to implement heatmap technology on the Landing Pages? Or any other behavioural technology?

Personally think it would be great to see how many visitors enter a make offer that is below your minimum asking price OR if they click any of the learn more buttons, click Buy Now and then don't fill in the personal details on the next page etc etc

If you have a domain that generates a lot of visitors to that part of your page and they leave without following through it could potentially help with pricing and also it's another data point for renewals......

I'm not sure if this data will be relevant enough, with fellow domainers looking at your inventory all the time.

I'm often trying the amount of "1" with Make Offers, to know how competitors are pricing, and to decide about renewing or not. Sometimes out of curiousity, but most of the time without any intention to buy.

Reseller interest in itself is something to consider - interest is interest at the end of the day, it's not the only thing to consider when it comes to renewals but I personally would like to see how people interact with the landers and follow up page/s - would be surprised if DAN aren't using this kind of tech on their site already......

If it will not slow down the page too much, maybe.

I'm a fan of fast loading times, and Google likes it too. That is why I am hesitant. Besides wondering how visitors behave (heatmaps), do you already have an idea whether this will radically change something in your strategy?

I'm not that technical so don't how much it would impact on loading times....

Regarding strategy, maybe, maybe not - depends on how people are interacting with the page, lot's of visitors to a lander with a BIN and no /hardly any interaction might help with deciding if that BIN is to high in the long term, on the flip side lot's of interaction in or around the make offer button might help with seeing if the minimum price is to high -

Someone hitting BIN and then not filling in their personal info shows there might of been semi serious interest? Do DAN follow up with retargeting ad's at this stage? I know they follow up with emails at certain points, but if no one has filled in their personal details do these slip through the cracks?

All if's, but's and maybe's.........maybe

At this moment, PageSpeed Insights reports a 31/100 score for loading a DAN lander on mobile, and 85/100 for desktop. Some big improvements can be made with (unused) third party code, javascript, preloading, cache policy, widgets, etc.

With Google's "Mobile Friendly First" strategy, this is not the best score, at this moment. However, a new DAN platform will be launched soon, and I hope landers will load even faster.

Good afternoon,

We already use heatmap technology. We do not only use heatmap technology but rather use an entire scala of different sources to study our clients' behavior and persona. However, these sources are used internally by our UX researchers for platform improvements but we do not have a plan of making these tools available for users on the platform.

Have a great weekend ahead.

I believe integrating heatmap/behavioral analysis tool like Microsoft Clarity and allowing sellers to use it (as SH did) have the potential to benefit DAN as well. Sellers will be able to better assess domain visitors' behavior, observe their hesitation and importantly filter out bots thanks to user session recordings. All of this might result in a better name assessment, more realistic valuation, and consequently more sales which benefits both DAN and sellers. Sorry, I know I already touched on this subject earlier on this page but now decided to emphasize the importance of it one more time since you said "we do not have a plan of making these tools available for users on the platform". I hope the DAN team will seriously consider adding such functionality for sellers. Thank you.

@LaszloSchenk
I recently asked the reps at Dan if i can avail the reduced commission of 5% for 'installment/lease-to-own' transactions initiated using my own-leads,
and have been told that the lower commission rate isn't applicable for installment transactions irrespective of the source of the lead, owing to the need for domain management, maintenance etc.

Since you are already charging 50% of the markup value for this very purpose, wouldn't it be more apt to extend the lower commission structure for installment transactions, created from the seller's own leads?

LOL what a joke of an answer ffs!

Ever heard of Microsoft Clarity you lads? Welcome to 2021!

You talk like Dan operates from a super secret dutch army bunker with alien tech never to be shared with us peasants. Let the people have the technology if you have it for Christ sake, the more data one has about his domains, the better duh ...
