I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
No good analogs here.
All those bots are toxic and just for fun.

If I sell a domain via a payment plan & the buyer stops paying part way through, do they lose their right to the domain & I the seller regain ownership & keep the payments they have made up to that point ? This is how it works at Dan, wanted to check that Epik is the same.

Hello, i have 2 questions

1) regarding recently expired domains.
ACCEPTING OFFERS
Domain owner will consider reasonable offers

I do not able accepting offers for expired domains. How to delete landing page or unpark expired domain or delete contact form?

2) and does epik have expired domain auctions? one of my domains was expired and just moved to another epik account it was sold or what?

When did it expire? After 15 days they will grab your domain and list it for sale themselves. After a while they will send it to their bargain bin. If it doesn't sell, they will send the domain to a 3rd party to be auctioned off as an expired auction domain.

Haven't kept track that much but this is what I noticed. Feel free to correct me where I'm wrong.

That's odd. You still own it and are within grace renewal so you should be able to use the domain as if it hadn't expired. Contact their support. Might be they just disable some options in their backend once a domain expires. Support has proven to be a hit/miss in my experience though. When in doubt hit up Rob by DM.

TheNarcissus.com expired on 10 Feb Epik landing page says:" will consider reasonable offers"

but I do not consider offers because the domain is auctioning in namepros.

Once a domain expires, Epik's lander goes up and then THEY can start negotiating with interested parties. Happened to me. Sketchy. Beware!

Bids on the names, i guess you have to renew...
I noticed things moved pretty quickly at epik, each registrar is different,
do due dilligence

Maybe a little late sharing but here it goes

In August of 2020 I had sold a .vc domain name through Epik for $xxxx with the help of @Rob Monster and had the money in my account within minutes. Straight after the sale completed, I had received a phone call from Rob himself congratulating me.

It was a great experience for me(y)

We celebrate all customer wins, especially the life-changing ones, but also the base hits. And in a day of impersonal emails and social media grandstanding, I still much prefer a one-on-one meeting or call.

I have just used Epik escrow and the process has been super smooth, hassle free and fast.
Buyer can pay by many ways including Bitcoin, and you can also receive the funds in many ways. I have to say that Transferwise is incredible fast sending the funds!
The Masterbucks interface is super good, simple and easy to use, very complete and with everything you need, nothing more and nothing less.
The withdrawal possibilities are also very flexible. You can withdraw the funds how and when you want.
Both Epik and Masterbucks have the possibility of using a full range of 2 FA and filters, security measures that some sites out there are still missing nowadays.
So, in resume, a very good experience using Epik escrow!

I have some domains to renew (expired a few days ago) and it forces me to renew for 2+ years, no option to renew for one year, what's up with that? [edit] Solved, thanks!

On another note, if I spend too much time selecting the domains to renew, the page displays a pop-up saying "please reload page" and stops responding. Of course after reloading, all the selections are gone. :(

That seems to be an issue with the session expiring.
I think it's relatively long already for sessions but you could try ticking "Remember me" on the SSO login page or alternatively when it shows "please reload page" you can try to login from another page and return on the current one, it should let you continue to select names.

2 opposing reviews:

Here's the positive review:

Just did a portfolio escrow. Super easy, flexible, and quick to setup & transact (as long as all names are in Epik), money now in my Masterbucks account.

Here's the negative review:

Masterbucks.

It took so long just to load the front page no matter what browser I use, then after clicking the login button I get presented with an empty page. The only exception for the login page is when using an insecure Chrome browser with zero privacy extensions, but I'm not going to use that browser because lately there seems to be more and more websites forcing me to use a Chrome like now just for sake of a properly functioning website and I find that way too fishy. How did websites end up becoming so Guugle-dependent these days?

So I logged into Epik first and then open up Masterbucks, which seem to work at first, only to end up showing me this:

mbucksdash.jpg

And when I click to look at my profile, I see this instead:

mbucksprofile.jpg

It's been a while since I have logged into Masterbucks, even during that time there were also problems, but now it's worse than before. I'd rather have the old Masterbucks anytime. I sure don't see anything special about this "new" Masterbucks other than a fancy design that broke everything into pieces.

Please fix this, or revert to old Masterbucks!

Additional details (if you can actually fix for real):

Browsers used: Chrome, Firefox 84.0.2, Comodo Dragon 58.0.3029.115 (Chrome build with Privacy extensions, screenshots taken from this one)
Windows 10
Logging in from S.E. Asia

UPDATE (9PM GMT): Now the front page is loading faster, and I'm able to use Firefox to get into Masterbucks. It's been so many months, I still don't get why the constant login problems. Even in Epik, if I don't go through the "front door" (main page > login page), I'll end being forced to re-login another round. This is ridiculous.

Comments here:

The Epik Single Sign On (SSO) service called FederatedIdentity.com is an engineering marvel. The idea of secure single sign on for a network of incubated, acquired and partnered services without having to add yet another login should be encouraging. We deployed our SSO in summer 2020. It is running like a champ.

The Masterbucks cloud wallet is another very significant development. It is iterating regularly as we add more direct integrations with major cryptos and licensed money transmitters around the world whereby our clients have an increasingly convenient 24/7 and legal way to direct their funds.

As for your specific encounter, I am not sure what you encountered there as our engineers were not able to replicate it. If you do encounter an issue, I would probably start by clearing browser cache to see if that resolves it. If not, there are a lot of ways to get real-time help that is faster than venting on NP.

WTF is going on with Epik login/logout lately !? It's really becoming a pain in the arse ! Half the time you can't login, if you manage that, half the time you can't log out ! Maybe it's time to move elswhere, if only I could login to do that !

I found how to solve it, I try to clear the data by clicking the lock symbol in the browser, and voila, it went through. Normal cache and cookies clear via google setting didn't work for me.

this was my first renewals now..

so am I seeing right and basically epik is quickest of all registrars to remove our expired names from panel...disallow transfer out..and tag redemption fee to renew or restore...and all this after a record (in a bad way) 15 days past expiry? someone confirm. ty.

p.s. or does at least unlocking them before that and getting auth codes let me transfer them out after?
