It's a business and they can ban whomever they wish on their platform. They don't need rhyme or reason to do what they wish with their service. Don't like it, don't use it.

Never said it was a business move. I said it was his business. He can do what he wants. He can bar people from participating on something he owns. Whether you like his decisions or not, it's within his right as an owner. Just as the owner of this forums could ban any user on here. Just because he's a politician or rich doesn't mean he is immune to everything and can do what he wants. If Trump, or anyone else for that matter, wants to participate on someone elses platform, they have to listen to their decisions. I don't see it as a hard concept to grasp. It's like head of household. When you are a child living with your parents, their rules are law even if you disagree or it's unfair, they still win..

Lmao. If anything Trump, like all presidents, was a guest of 4-8 years. As for business.. um.. do you know how a business works? Do you know the limitations of being president? Being president doesn't make you in control of someone else's establishment. Being president doesn't make you exempt from the rules. We have an impeachment processes for a reason. We have laws stating no one with a criminal record can become president. What kind of nonsense are you on mate??

Didn’t Trump pardon a couple people right before he got out of office?

That he did. But he can't pardon himself, he wanted to. Would've tried if not for his lawyers going "Don't do it man. Don't do it. Come on. You'll dig us as bigger hole." I don't understand how you fail to grasp the idea that in our capitalist society, Facebook which is a private company (don't try to BS me with "it's got publicly traded stocks" or something. It's a private entity owned by a private citizen), and they are allowed to censor any content or user they wish. Being president doesn't automatically give him rights to do whatever he wishes, especially with a private entity. I don't have to allow him to register on any of my site/forums.

Either way. I'm talking to a brick wall. It ain't gonna get through to you so I'm done wasting my time. I now understand the chatroom suspension.

It's not being mad or frustrated about your political views. Couldn't care who you voted for, free country. It's more that I seem to be talking to, again, a wall. I've explained the concept quite clearly but you don't seem to understand. Being president doesn't give you any special rights above a normal citizen other than those specific to the role of US president. And having a facebook or twitter or instagram account isn't a role of the president. Anyways, I'm done wasting my time.

It's true that Facebook & Twitter are businesses, but the platforms are social. Both the platforms have also enjoyed his presence. If you are unbiased, they should wait for court of law to prove someone guilty. Outright decision based on 5 panel team's opinion for such a big and important political figure, makes you think something is cooking. Anyways, if you are not leaned towards anyone, you make sure someone is really guilty before taking decisions like this.

Note: I am neither left or right. :)
