Rick Schwartz sold BestOdds.com for $3.6 MILLION

As he known as DomainKing He sold the domain bestodds.com for
3 6(1.8+1.8)M

1.8M would be the royalty and @estibot appraisal price was $730 and now it's showing even lower $530 .( Keeps changing)

Also he commented on estibot and other domain appraisal tools #fail #fake and #f¢ukedup .

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Rick and I started out at the same time and look at where he is and where I am now.
I must do something wrong.
Hang on, let me check with my wife.

But you're happy, right?

Seriously, having that sort of money would just make me paranoid and unhappy.
How much money do you actually need before it becomes a full-time job just managing it?

I rather be paranoid from having to much money than having too little. Claiming that rich people are not happy and those with just enough are, is nonsense.

A lot of terrible accusations here.

Don't worry about @CraigD he loves the hippy mind set hates waste pollution etc but if this is the case he will still live out life as a multi miserableaire.

More money comes with more problems.

There's a reason why there are so many old sayings that say getting rich is bad.

They say you spend more,,. You re unhappier..

I would be a fool to think I'm above the old sayings

Amazing sale.

Yeah automated appraisals are a waste of time and need scraping or totally revamping how it works.

So it is a registered sale so...How is it calculated everyone jumps gun what is a deal worth over 10 years sharing income. The validation of sales history has most sales missing. I am not lapping this up respect given completely but going to say really...

Misery seeks company is also an old saying. People without money have been coming up with all types of saying to justify their misfortune. I know people from both sides, by far those with money have better lives. Money is not a guarantee of anything, but it certainly helps most people not the opposite.

I know of people that don't think it represents happiness or see any need for more waste either.
Be happy for the king for now. More keyword prices bumped. bestturds etc

Actual sale price is $1.8M, royalty stream on betting site? Whose to get access to review their financials etc, offshore? Let’s see how much of that other $1.8M he gets... other than that the original $1.8M is above average on it’s own.

I see Best-Odds.com at Dan, let’s see if that one disappears anytime soon.

If I had seen this name in an expiring drops list I would have probably passed over it. Phenomenal negotiation!!!

Congrats to @Rick Schwartz . Just read the post. My take away? Based on memory?

I will save in my brain.

1. make an effort to put buy now prices for domains in my portfolio and make sure you prices ones in different categories. I like how Schwartz says he does this to basically le buyers know they are on Rodeo Drive where nothing is cheap. So when we get an offer on domains we don’t have on our portfolio site or make offer. At least the buyer gets the idea they are not dealing in the “ cheap seats”

2. we don’t sell domains. We sell an idea.

3. domain prices are based on what the highest or lowest price a potential single item sale can be sold for on the domain.

4. A domain name is the intersection where the real world connects to the digital virtual world.

5. Domainers don’t sell domains. We sell ideas.

It's a great name, focused on a competitive sector with expensive PPC costs.
Obviously worth much more than the ridiculous appraisal.
Although high profile 7 figure deals come with publicity, links, and free advertising priced into the amount paid.

Where exactly did i make a terrible accusation?
that was not directed to you, but to others saying this is some illegal transaction

Rick explains:

"This original deal took 3 zoom calls and 45 minutes to come to our basic agreement. The hammering out of the contract between lawyers took about 7-8 weeks....
The domain itself is priced at $1.8 Million (that was also the listing price) and then I get 10 years of royalties which will be another $1.8 Million."
