Are you going to be buying more hyphen .COM domains in late 2019?

Just sold sushi-man.com from an Epik SSL lander for $4200. This is one of Epik's O&O domains. I don't normally report sales but these days we are routinely asking for $10K+ for good hyphen .COM names and seeing sincere engagement.

The great gTLD experiment has been run. I now routinely sell even ccTLD registrants are upgrading from their ccTLD to .COM if they can afford it. I was late to acknowledge it but the risk-reward equation for speculators overwhelmingly favors .COM.

When it comes to hyphenated .COM, SEO is your friend. I recommend to use SSL landers but any SEO lander will probably do the trick to drive inquiries.

Freshly acquired. I believe it's my second hyphenated name.

Hyphenated domains do sell from time to time, but they are not in any more demand now than when this thread was started.

"E" whatever.com stopped being fashionable some years ago, add a hyphen "e-whatever.com" and I think you'll struggle to sell. There are some sales but one or two a month, so is pure luck IMO.

The reason for this relies in the combination of the fact that SEDO is a german company and that Germany (+ AT / CH) being one of the main markets for hyphenated domain names.

Even though I know I will never be able to develop the domains I still love geo domains, so when I saw today that:

Maricopa-County.com

was available to register jumped straight onto it.

The 4th largest county in the US. In Arizona with a population of 4,651,440 (a growth rate of 21.6% since 2010).

....... And ......

Just picked up:

North-Las-Vegas.com

Obviously in Nevada it has a population of 265,000.

Yes it is a double hyphen, but out of the top 200 US cities by population it was the only one available (including other two hyphened city domains).

Not a bad evenings work.

I like hyphenated domains, but it's a sad fact that most people (still) don't. I've let most of mine go and what few I have left are at pretty much reg-fee now, as are these (all .COM), which I'm posting for someone else who decided to give hyphens another chance.

The third one is the British/Irish/Canadian/NZ name for bachelor party, for which a lot of event organizers and tour companies seem to exist. The first name seems like it might have potential, since it's related to loans and/or finance and tenuously counts as 'one word'. Of the three, I like the second name the most though.

I may as well also mention one of the few I still have.

I wouldn't register a living person but I think well-known historical figures or late and great legends offer potential for developing informational/biographical websites, which is what this domain was from 20 years ago until a few years back.
