Has anyone else done this? Im so embarrassed. I bid on an auction at godaddy and won and have now had to recede my bid. Not sure what the consequences are but i was wondering if anyone else has made this blunder and what did you do? ty in advance. :xf.frown::xf.cry::banghead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
What domain and how much was your winning bid? You don't have the available funds, or just decided it wasn't worth the price?

If the auction over you are not withdrawing a bid. you are a non paying bidder. @Joe Styler what is the penalty for first time non paying?

Why don't you offer the option to someone here on namepros, otherwise if first offence I believe it is $10 fine, and warning.

it was the price, didnt even think about it being an erroneous bid, i left it and got an email saying i won it and i looked at the price and choked on my coffee. i cant get a hold of help chat either at godaddy. yipes.

For the first non-payment they will suspend your account and in order to get it back usually they charge a fine of $25 (I don't know if it different now).

Just talk to them and see if there's any other option.

Withdrawing a bid is not a thing, especially after an auction that you won. When you place a bid it is binding.

Was there a mistake like where you typed the wrong amount, or did you just change your mind?

i typed the wrong offer in, and couldnt get in touch with godaddy chat to change it, then it was accepted instead of went to auction and now its too much to pay. i feel so bad about it, too. i thought they would send it to auction after the offer, i saw that was an option for the seller to do.

They might be reasonable about if it the mistake is obvious like you tried to type 120 and typed 1200.

But, unless you got a hold of them before the auction ended it might just be seen as buyer's remorse.

After reading that again, you said "seller". Was this not an expired auction then?

You can email [email protected]. There will be some kind of penalty accessed after they look at it. If it is your first mistake and you tried contacting them right away it will likely be a small fine.

If it's a nice combo, they're quite valuable to the right buyer. They have a liquid value but am not sure what they're going for wholesale.

Try to reach out to @frank-germany for an appraisal.

hmmm, havent been able to get back on the godaddyauction platform yet. Are they blocking me?

If you are being sent straight to the help page instead of the auction we are blocking you. You can email [email protected] for help with that so they can look into why we are blocking you.
