Think about sleeping on cold concrete with a few hundred other men with only 1 bathroom to share.

Trump would've booked 5000 rooms in one of his hotels and overcharged them at public expense :xf.laugh:

From Cradle to Grave, Oil Production is Harmful

and oil from THE CANNABIS PLANT was one of the reasons that valuable plant was demonized...

Check out what Ford did..

Made a car out of hemp plastic and it ran on hemp oil!

And it could sustain 10x the impact that steel does!

(Carnegie didn't like that)

Aww, no place to charge their IPhones? That's not cold, try military manouvers in the tundra :xf.wink:
Mr-X will find SOMETHING, ANYTHING to be outraged about no matter what and pin it directly on President Biden. But Mr-X had no problem giving T-man a pass on EVERYTHING!!!

Looks like some video of Mr-X has been leaked...

Mr-X finding out T-man lost.

It's the giving the T-man a pass on EVERYTHING that gets me more then anything.

I said a long time ago that if Trump had really shot someone on 5th avenue for the hell of it, mr-x would find a way to defend him.

Any judge in the US would have thrown out this stupid lawsuit.

Again, free speech rights don't exist with private companies or platforms. Amazon can do business with who they choose.

Brad
You mean.... Any LIBERAL judge in the US would have thrown out this stupid lawsuit...

Different strokes for different folks.... right?

Longstanding Colorado state law prohibits public accommodations, including businesses such as Masterpiece Cakeshop, from refusing service based on factors such as race, sex, marital status or sexual orientation.
But All mighty Amazon and the rest of Big Tech can do what they please... right?

Please cite the specific law you believe Amazon is breaking.

Absent that, a private business can largely do as they please.

Any judge would throw this out because it has no merit in law.

It would be tossed out by any conservative judge as well, the same way all of Trump's bullshit voter fraud lawsuits were.

If "a private business can largely do what they please." then why can't a baker deny making a cake, because it goes against their religious beliefs?

What's good for the goose should also be good for the gander!

So then why is it that Muslim bakeries can deny making a wedding cake for a gay couple and absolutely nothing happens to them? Where are all those judges?

Different strokes for different folks?

To quote someone's comment:
Christian Bakery: refuse to make a gay wedding cake
Liberals: TRIGGERED

Muslim Bakery: refuse to make a gay wedding cake Liberals: part of their culture

Yeah... seems fair.

Yeah... seems fair.

I am not saying what is fair or not. If I ran these companies I might make different decisions.

I am simply saying the Parler lawsuit vs Amazon had no basis in law.

The baker you earlier referred to violated state law in Colorado.

Federally there are certain protected groups as well.

Absent breaking laws, private companies can largely do as they please.

Since you know so much about laws, why wasn't the Muslim bakery in Dearborn, Michigan forced to close down, like the Christian bakery in Colorado?

Are there Sharia laws in Dearborn, since there is such a high % of Muslims in that city?

Was it because Muslims are part of the "Certain Protected Groups" as you mentioned?

Personally I think the Muslim Bakery was right in refusing, just a pity about the double standards against Christian Bakeries... in the same situation!

I have no idea what the Michigan state laws are. It is possible that they don't have the same discrimination laws as Colorado.

I have no problem admitting there is an obvious double standard here.

If you put sexual orientation into federal law as a protected class, then that is one way to fix it.
The federal law would take precedence over the state laws per the Supremacy Clause in the Constitution.

The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution of the United States, establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constitute the "supreme Law of the Land", and thus take priority over any conflicting state laws.

On a personal note, I would give most private companies wide discretion when it comes to who they decide to do business with, but any policy needs to be posted publicly for all to see.

Official National Debt on last day of Trump presidency shows it increased $7.8-trillion on his watch. As a candidate, he pledged to eliminate the Debt during 8 years in office. It ended at $27.751-trillion. Compares to Debt increase of $9.3-trillion during Pres Obama’s 8 yrs.

A little math for you...

7.8/4 = 1.95T/year added.
9.3/8 = 1.16T/year added.

Trump added on average around $800B/year more than Obama. Sad!
