Company that used the domain MyGameroom.com tried to get Gameroom.com through a cybersquatting dispute.

Tamara S. Pester, LLC represented My Gameroom LLC. David Taylor/Jane Seager of Hogan Lovells LLP represented Facebook.

Helps when you are a multi billion dollar company and can afford a decent defence - in this case though it looks pretty clear cut.......

Hi, thanks for your reply:xf.smile:

  • Large companies often encounter this kind of domain name hijacking.I think we domain name investors should cultivate such brand protection awareness

I have an account on both but rarely use them, but I do have 130,000 members on my facebook cooking and cookbook group. As such I am sad that Facebook is blocking me from even linking to a couple of my domain names which forward to my Amazon page where the cookbook is, and more recently they blocked my main account from posting or commenting on pages or groups for the foreseeable future. But I have found that I can delegate that power to other accounts and log into them for the administration of my groups.

So don't rely too much on a successful platform:xf.grin:
Vigorously develop the domain name industry, and good luck to you

You can say that again lmao...if they wanted the domain they needed to pay a hefty price ..not a law suite

Its OK for marketing, but it is a free speech platform by any stretch of the imagination.

Imagine the entitlement of the guy suing facebook because they have a better domain...
It's (unfortunately) common for the big guys to bully small-time domainers, but to try and go for the Goliath...
