Since I'm going to retire this avatar later today, I thought I'd leave a copy of it here for posterity - or in case it should be needed again. (What a scary thought!)

It's a start...

17 House GOP freshmen sent a letter to Biden committing to work with him

Republican Rep. Beth Van Duyne, who represents a Texas district where Democrats were competitive, led a letter to Joe Biden signed joined by 16 GOP House freshmen, saying they look forward to working with him.

"We firmly believe that what unites us as Americans is far greater than anything that may ever divide us," they wrote. "In that spirit, we hope that we can rise above the partisan fray to negotiate meaningful change for Americans across the nation and maintain the United States’ standing as the best country in the world."

Weather update in DC....

42 degrees with only a 5% chance of malarkey.

This is hilarious... and does reflect the level of education and logic of people who a known con-man like Trump can exploit:

@lennco -- I am genuinely curious what everyone (both sides) thinks about how things will shake out and it would be cool if the OP could include and/or start a poll.

Specifically, will a viable 3rd party be born, will Trump run again in 2024, who will run (Ivanka, Nikki Haley, etc.) will DC become a state, etc. I know these are related but quite different...but thought someone here could come up with a non partisan way of lumping all this together and getting a simple 'yes, no or maybe' response from everyone with supporting thoughts following.

It might be necessary to start another thread (don't know enough about the poll system here and don't know if a Part 2 can be added to original post) but I think it only fair if OP starts it if he wants to.

It is just amazing to me the history we are living through...it would be awesome for future users to have a little insight into what everyone thinks/thought as things develop. (or maybe I've just had too much coffee today and my mind is over revving) :xf.smile:

LOL:

I hope some of you Trumpees will realize you've been brainwashed by right-wing propaganda and basically joined a cult of Trump... although I know many will just dig-in their heels further.

Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to start a second Poll. :xf.frown:

It would be great if there was a viable 3rd party but it has been tried many times and one has never really took off.

It would be cool to see one that was a Moderate hybrid of both D/R.

Also, here's an example of how delusional some of you Trumpees are... talking this way about Trump of all people, a con-artist with such a slimey history:

Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez already...with many more stars to come.

If it was Trump we would have got like Ted Nugent and Scott Baio. :)

Biden's speech sure is a lot better than Trump's "American carnage".

The tone is a massive upgrade and is what America needs at the moment.

You can tell he actually has empathy.

You can agree or disagree on policies, but it is a nice change to have someone who is not just pandering to their own base.

A sadly revealing run of posts.

I think a large number of Trump supporters originally voted against H. Clinton. Then they were pushed to support him by the radical left and corporate media. Then he enacted policies he promised.

Most people have their eyes wide open regarding Trump, the democrats and their corporate allies. Many of the same people who call Trump supporters names and ridicule Fox News have no problem with CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, ABC, Vanity Fair, VOX, Daily Beast, Time.com, etc.
