SquadHelp - Marketplace

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

Can anyone share some tips how to get 5L name approved?

I'd like to hear more experiences, too.

Also, a question, if a name is not pending review anymore but, at the same time, is not rejected, does it mean that that name has been approved and they are working on graphic?

Check on the Standard Listing part, in the rejection.

If your name is approved, you will get a notification by email straightaway. Once you agreed to their terms & conditions, they will then start the design process

Part of the new AI personalized results feature, I think. I hate the way it looks, tbh.

Yeah, it's weird. I played with it for a while. It's weird that we can upvote or downvote our own names. And it's weird that once upvoted they reappear again and then you have to vote on them again. What's the point on voting on same names all over again? Or am I missing something? Also, I wonder if these upvotes/downvotes have any impact on the rankings of our names ... Let's hope SH will soon release their statement explaining all of this.

Hi @GrantP
bumpsie.com, teccas.com, zelono.com, is a premium domain in SH which was approved on January 21, 2020, to this day the logo creation has not been completed, I have twice contacted this SH staff first on 2 February 2020 and second on 19 February 2020 The answer in the logo creation queue

best regards

I think 21 jan is a lucky date for domain approval, i have just received my 1st approval after submitting 18 names.

You are absolutely right. 77 days for a second review is way too long. Anything that takes more than 2-3 weeks for any kind of review should not be acceptable by any standard.

While this is not an excuse, lately the submission volume to the Marketplace has been extremely high, which is causing the second review requests to fall behind. We are aware of this issue, and are working on finding ways to improve this timeline. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Can you please check your pm

@GrantP

I would like to ask in case of Afternic authorized premium listings > can we write in the domain description field "the domain is listed for sale at Sedo/Godaddy for the exact same price in partnership with Squadhelp"?

I was going through the sellers agreement but did not find anything specifically.

Thank you for the feedback

My logos are improving now. I wish they could make sure the classification is done in the order it was paid for.

Some expert classification were purchased 2 weeks + and still pending while some of them were done 48 hours...

Is it just me or do you feel that SH quality bar has been lowered? I see many mediocre domains get accepted.

I am new to SH. My first 20 submissions or so wrre rejected and once the first one got accepted, I understood the pattern and what they were after. My potfolio currently sits at 18 on SH. Quite small compared to many but I am planning to increase to 50 by Feb and to 100 by May/June. And I still get somerejections.

None of my non registered names have been accepted.

It seems that almost all non-registered names get rejected. When it comes to registered names, I got a 43% acceptance rate, but my rate is less than 3% for unregistered ones. I wonder how many of them would have been accepted if those had been registered. Anyway, for unregistered rejected domains I can still use Alter, where my acceptance rate for such names is around 10%.

"I wonder how many of them would have been accepted if those had been registered." - if you are willing to register them, you could resubmit them after two months and find out :)

I didn't know that there's a possibility to submit unregistered names to Altef. It's cool. But does names registered by Alter with submitter commission exist ?
