So our domains are currently listed on :

Afternic (BIN)
Own custom landing pages (Make an offer with Offers in the region of)
Sedo (MO)
Dan.com (MO)
Godaddy (MO)
DomainAgents (MO)
SquadHelp (MO)

So far, no sales for a month and a half. But seems like a number of Domainers feeling that pinch. My question for today friends is as follows, how do people feel about SquadHelp.com?

I recently thought - Okay - Let's give them a whirl. They have two listing options :

1. Standard listing - allowing you to list the domains on their market place, paying a 7.5% commission, and no exclusivity requirements.
2. Premium Listing - They apparently market these a lot more externally, asking for a 35% -> 15% commission depending on domain price. They do some extra bits and bobs to the domains to make them stand out better for people to buy (incl. Logos etc). You can choose a premium listing with exclusivity, meaning you have to sell all the domains through SH, or you can pay a coin ($1) to list with semi-exclusive - basically meaning that you cannot list anywhere other than Afternic.

Because of my other listing arrangements, I thought - well - I will list as standard as they are wanting to sell domains so may not get the external marketing (although you can upgrade for a fee for SOME of this) I would give them a whirl.

So merrily I go and put on close on 200 domains as a test case, non-exclusive, standard listing MO. I then go to search the marketplace to see what my domains look like - and low and behold - none of them shows up. I have verified them, even filled in a little bit of detail to help the squad help systems find the domains. Still nothing.

I get hold of them to discuss - and they say - or your domains won't show in the market place. I'm like "Gulp!" why not? Because they are standard listings they say. They then direct me to a link for a market place that shows the standard listings too, but guess what fellow patrons of the virtual real-estate world - this market place link doesn't seem to show up (even searching directly for it) on any of the page links in the NAV bar. Meaning that people actually don't directly get the ability to search standard domains.

I asked if the enhanced exposure would put them on the "standard" marketplace that has a link on the site, I was told no - that's only for premium domains.

So I am like - how do people find the standard domains - to which I got this response from the lady on chat "As mentioned earlier, the all domains link will be promoted to prospects via retargeting ads as well as popups - thus, prospects can still see standard domains." - So basically people cannot search directly for your keywords, just if the system thinks it should make a last-ditch attempt to sell the "standard stuff".

So I thought - let's test this. I then found a premium domain that was VERY close to one of mine. I went onto the landing page for it and low and behold - my Standard domain is nowhere to be found - no retargeting - no additional info - nothing.

If they were negotiable on their premium listings I may upgrade, even if it cost me money. I want my domains to have the best chance across many marketplaces. I cannot afford to have $500k worth of domains in one marketplace. The sticking points for me are:

1. I do not want restrictive exclusive relationships. I want the option to sell wherever I like.
2. I am happy for commissions to be higher on the basis that they do some marketing leg-work. But they expect the higher commissions with the exclusivity.
3. Only 10% of the accepted premium domains can be MO - otherwise they have to be BIN. This restricts things significantly.

To top it all off - I use my own landing pages - but when clicking on the domain when I could search for it in the standard unknown / cant be found marketplace, the landing page brought up a 404 error. Fun! Every barrier to actually selling anything through SH.

Anyways, that's my little rant. Would love to hear from others - and/or perhaps even from SquadHelp themselves? So far - chatting to them online has only caused confusion and frustration.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The process of selling domain names is painfully slow and long,
Sometimes they might hold it for days without selling,
But sometimes you can sell a domain name to someone else,
They will soon be able to sell domain names to end users

I am confused among BB, BP, SH and ALTER. Provided we have good domains and even if we neglect the commission rate, who among them sells the domain name faster?

Yeah it can be. I am quite proud of my portfolio. I do a lot of drop catching through my own servers, so pick up some really good domains. How are your sales going atm? How many domains in your portfolio?

Havent used BB. I have about 60 names with BP. And have listed over 100 with SH (std) and have just put a few on premium to test their services. You can see some of my domains with them at https://brand.investments where I have a marketplace with them.

Your portfolio looks solid. Made any sale in the recent times with brandables?
If so BP or SH?

Had offers on BP - but not sold anything as yet - waiting for the right prices to be hit.

I think SH need to add BIN option to their standard listing

Oh! There is a BIN option. Need to explore SH

Their beta marketplace isn't too bad. They have some good stuff - just wish there wasn't such a big difference between standard and premium listings.

I just found out via Domain History Checker that my first submitted domain was rejected.
I didn't receive a notification nor explanation. If I hadn't checked Domain History Checker I would still be waiting. What an absolute joke of dealing with clients who pay for submitting domains.

I've had quite a few domains (good ones) that have been rejected. Some much better than the ones they have existing on the platform. The only explanation that I can think of - is that they have made the criteria more restrictive on what they accept nowadays and that some of the older (rubbish) domains that they have on the platform are from some time back.

Although I also think my domain is quite good (and previously was accepted by Brandpa) I'm not upset that they rejected it. I'm upset that they don't even notified me and don't give a reason why they rejected it. There is obviously also a bug since submitted/pending/rejected section was blank. The only way for me to find out was via Domain History Tracker. When I told them about this their reaction was "thank you for your feedback".

Anyhow; I'm done with being a paid customer being treated as a number on platforms where it's only a numbers game. If they had a physical store they'd all go bankrupt. I wanted to delete my account but since that's also not possible on that shitty site they deactivated it for me.

Sorry, it didn't work out for you. I think there are huge gaps in the market for marketing / market / tools for domainers and the domain industry. Looking forward to seeing what comes about in the next while (I am working on a few things myself).

they next email the next day. i always get email next day anyways i.e. around now is the time they would approve/reject domains and we get emails 12 hours from now with all our domain acceptance/rejection summary.

remember some ppl have 10/20/30 domains pending so makes sense to send to send a summary in 1 lot rather than individually

So the saga of SH continues - I tested their premium submission service. Added over 40 domains - most of which would have been accepted at other brandable marketplaces (I know this as I checked). Some of them were single-word (dictionary) .coms - so some value in that. And the outcome - all of them rejected.

I look through the marketplace, as I am sure loads of you have - and notice the absolute rubbish that there is on there which has been accepted. Perhaps these domains are the ones that are dreamed up by someone and submitted to SH for registration etc (in which case they get more than their pound of flesh).

Anyways, I really do think they need some stiff competition. Wake them up a little bit.

I tried to get someone who I could speak to - and I was told that all comments go through the support system. Its probably one person sitting behind a computer with a drink (or seven) and depending on where they are on the drunk scale they press the approve or reject button.

They rejected your domain names because they were not brandable names. Maybe come up with creative names instead of bashing a legit business.

My point is people who have hundreds of premium names don't want basic listing to show up and compete in the search.

Why would anyone pay 30% for premium if all they had to do was list in Standard?

Like I said for a lot name the 30-35% is commission well worth paying. Because many of these are names that might not sell at other places.

Anyway there are many people who are selling good names in basic listing. basic is the best for good names that would sell on it's own.

I have removed some premium names from the premium and downgraded to basic because they get enough inquiries on their own.

If squadhelp had an option for full non-exclusivity, even at 30% commission, I know people who might consider that.

I've been a member of SH for one and a half month and submitted a total of 50 domains with these stats:

19 approved
7 pending
24 rejected

Also acquired 3 names from SH Wholesale, bringing the total number of premium domains to 22, with a total SH portfolio value of $200k

Names about 50/50 handreg and auctions.

So far they're getting decent amount of likes and traffic, but will take some months until things will materialize. Probably need to be an active participant in contests etc to improve traffic stats even more, from what I've understood from others.

What seems to help though is to give a weekly discount as the names gets pooled into a separate section with limited offers. Improves visibility it seems.

1) Is it a good idea to go for Squadhelp Standard listing instead of Sqadhelp Premium?
I say this coz for Standard listing we can list them at a host of other platforms too while for premium ones they want it to be exclusively there at SH(except for exclusions like afternic if premium portfolio >50).

2) Do most sales in SH comes from premium only or standard ones also sell?

Thanks in advance

SH Standard doesn't give you any traffic, whatsoever. Standard listing aren't searchable through the main search box, so it's only good for submitting names to contests (after you pay $3 for marketing exposure per domain). IMHO it's worthless as an integrated part of SH, but it's OK if you want to use the standard listing as a storefront with your own domain name and use SH as a payment handler. You'd still have to drive traffic to your site though. As an example, I've listed about 50 names at standard, with 0 traffic in 30 days. Nothing came organically from SH. My 20 premium names got visited 400+ times in the same period.
