So, Snopes is only true when you want to believe it? That sure sounds like confirmation bias.

The issue with the border was Trump's family separation policy. There are still hundreds of kids in custody where they can't find their parents.

Brad

Snopes is correct when they dont' lie or spin the truth

By looking at video .. I am guessing around 200 people entered the Capitol ... which was a bad thing of course ... but looking at the conclusion it appears 3/4 of them were QAnon ... the other 1/4 followed them in ... after viewing the newest video ... it doesn’t appear the entry was well planned at all ... it appears as a lot of the people were clowning in there ... they really didn’t have a clue as to what they were going to in there .. while a small percentage appeared to be on a rampage waking hall ways and stuff like that ... I didn’t see anyone armed with a firearm in the videos ... it all appears to be a spur of the moment decision by the people who entered the building ... the intrusion was a bad situation as law makers were actually working inside at the time .. but does it all add up to a 25k National guard presence ???

there are two ways of looking at it ... over responding or under responding ... I don’t think there is a real correct answer .. I do think the media is taking the overall picture and stretching it as far as they can ... the media have become experts at doing this ... while most people are working and living there lives ... like myself ... they don’t stay up to date by the minute with the very latest happenings .. honest reporting is what most rely on because there is no time in a day to try and sift through everything to find out the true exact facts ... it has become a guessing game with today’s media .. it’s sad I can’t get notice of daily news in one 30 minute broadcast ...

I am not sure what the exact numbers were, but it is clear from the videos that there was a mixture of people from people clowning as you say to people who were well armed and organized with more nefarious plans.

One thing that is certain, as these people are looking for pardons, is all the people there seemed to think they were doing what the President wanted them to do.

How this is remembered really depends on what happens next.

Was this event the beginning or the end? Is this the start of right wing violence based on a campaign of lies and misinformation or a one off event?

With all that said, I would far rather be over-prepared than under-prepared when there is so much uncertainty.

I think the event was a one and done incident .... it does appear as if a small portion of the people in there were seeking to find some lawmakers ... the rest appeared clueless as to what they were going to do in there ... Although small groups like the proud boys will probably scuffle with Antifa ... I don’t see anything larger than those type of things taking place ... I think those little scuffles will dry up soon too .... most people lay their emotions out ... not violently... then move forward and continue on with their life ...

We will have to see. I don't think anyone is rooting for continuous violent confrontations.

At the moment though, with how much uncertainty there is I think it makes perfect sense to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Capitol rioter plotted to sell stolen Pelosi laptop to Russian intelligence

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...n-pelosi-laptop-russian-intelligence-n1254583

why do Americans want to cater to our enemies .... although we are cordial with China and Russia ... neither is our true friend ... they are fare weather friends .. both countries have put it on the US ass the last couple of years .... thinking we have Americans that might cater to China and Russia is very very disturbing

Good. Even the one BLM member that was charged has the same right to be in that situation as the 100+ Trump supporters that have been charged.

Brad

We dont get do overs, Brad...
And got out on no bail (flaw “systematic racism” logic?)

i think there’s racism in America, but only by a minority.

The left has to take it a step further;

“systematic racism”

“systematic racism”

Systematic racism does not mean majority, it means inside a system.

For instance minorities, on average, get far worse outcomes in courts for the same crimes as white people.
That is a systematic issue.

Thanks Brad, i meant racism by a few minority.

i think the term means it is “embedded” deep in system.

Best Country on Earth^^ (But money has a way seem making problems go away... Is it “Racist issue”? )

Not hearing enough solutions sought.
Great job raising awareness in the “Woke age”
(Not you, but by NFL, NBA, and everyone)
Still not hearing enough talk about emphasis placed on having a father figure in your life — reduce crime issues

Even the “hero’s” LeBron James, Barack Obama.

Who are their fathers, Brad? Exactly.

There are laws like "3 strikes" that tend to disproportionately effect minorities as well.

While it might sound great in theory, you often get people sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for relatively minor crimes.

There is not only systematic racism, there is systematic classism as well. There is a completely different justice system and application of the law based on your social and financial status.

US intelligence is superior .. I would guess intel is why they have deployed the actions they are doing right now ... although I don’t expect anything will happen ... I fully expect people will get back to their daily lives ... work .. pay taxes ... contribute to society ..

A presidential term is only 4 years ... although I don’t like the Progressives in the Democratic Party ... anyone aside from a progressive to be our VP ... it is what it is ... we have faced similar situations in past elections ... everyone got through and past those ... we will do the same now .. the division of the country isn’t going to fix itself ... but that is just something that will have to work itself out over time

For sure,

and especially “crack” “cocaine” minimum sentencing

You got me there. This may be the most “racist” law lol

Now if you voted for Trump you're a threat. How long before a democrat demands "trumpers" have to wear a mark in public.

@bmugford let’s take it a step further.

i consider you knowledgeable on this polarizing topic.

“conspiracy” CIA FBI planted crack in poor communities. This conspiracy tends lean left;
since it involves racial profiling of minors by gov’t.
But i believe it. So maybe the government had a role
in our “drug problem” leading to “mass incerceration”

Who knows! I still find it interesting,

“Judge me by my character, not the color of my skin.”
Famous words said by someone, who’s day is today.
The problem is i dont believe America as racist today, as some, make it out to be, and certainly not as much past; which people still try project is going on today.

There are no more “Jim Crow” Laws.... Get a grip. (not u
This perception of the “victim class” is too emotional.
I think there are more Black Conservatives than people give them credit for; and as Republican Party rebrands “Party of the working class...” wont do.. They need to be; GOP has always been “Party of African American rights!”

I don't think people should really be serving long prison sentences when it comes to usage or possession of drugs period, unless there is an obvious intent to distribute or are major underlying crimes.

There are far better ways to treat the issue than just throwing people in prison and destroying their lives with felony charges, especially when there is no actual victim.

You also have classism issues like bond or bail. Just because you are rich, should you be able to avoid accountability for your crime that someone with lesser means would not be able to?

The entire Justice system need to be cleaned up.

This is also where "Defund" the police comes in. It is an extremely poor slogan, but most people mean in reality some of the funds are better allocated to other things like social workers, rehab programs, job programs, etc.

With a better allocation of resources you would probably have much lower recidivism rates.

these problems have to be handled internally to ever get fixed .... groups of people can help .. or hurt the situation ... ultimately if the elected officials ... city .. state and federal don’t make the necessary corrections on behalf of the people ... nothing changes

Lin Wood, Trump connected lawyer, threatened Mike Pence with execution multiple times....

Neither position is reasonable, but one is a different level.

It is obviously silly to suggest that every Trump voter might be a threat.

mere possession of a drug shouldn’t carry a prison term .. as long as intent of distribution isn’t included ... it takes some people 3 tries at rehab before they stop using ... those 3 attempts should be offered .... heroine for instance ... medical knows how addictive the substance is .. so the courts should know this as well ... having more stringent rehabilitation is a far better answer than imprisonment

I agree. I mean take someone who is an addict, then they are charged with a felony, then they get out and can't get a job and get their live together...Is it any doubt there is going to be recidivism in that situation?

There are much better ways to handle this situation.
