So yeah bumpy ride this year, but didn't fall off the saddle even with this cold weather here now.. and no end in sight as it is with our cold, gray Canadian winters. Not to disparage, sun always rises and spring will come.
Ever make a sale on a domain that just sort of came at you out of nowhere? 2020 was an interesting year in that there were two names I had, one which I had decided to rub out of my portfolio and let expire, the other was a personal interest for a future project:
alaska (dot) blue $450
norse (dot) horse $480
Both these names were not particularly exciting really, which was why it took me by surprise when a couple buyers came calling for them. Am pleased with the sales nonetheless. Each was inbound offers via the domain's whois email. Norse was a hand-reg, alaska was acquired here on NP marketplace. Alaska I had already let expire with no intention of renewing it.
First thought that came to mind after I received the offers was along the lines of "you just never know!" and the irony of trimming my portfolio of domains that fall into the "you just never know" category. Will this change things, is it worth keeping an endless collection of names that may or may not catch someone's interest other than your own? I say not, it will run you dry.
All the best for next year, NP- and, though it's nice to ride a horse or take a dip in the blue, let's keep our bed on solid ground. Certainly, please share those wonderful names you've sold that came least expected.
