Sedo - Not receiving sale related / transfer agent emails

NameSilo
Watch
I am wondering if anyone is currently involved in a sale and or negotiation and is NOT receiving the emails from transfer agent, etc.

Over the last 5 days, I stopped getting emails from sedo. Meaning if the payment is received for a sale, I did NOT receive notice by email. If the agent sent me a message, no email.

I have to check my account for status changes.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
So if no understanding on Uni side - I don't recommend to park your domains there.

Yeah. Moreover, last time I checked, it was not possible to setup cname forwarding or anything similar with uni parking. As far as I remember, their parking server was set to forward everything to naked domain, so the scheme "hosting naked domain elsewhere and forwarding it (and www.) to some ww1 subdomain" was not applicable, nor did they provide cname records for external dns at all.

I am wondering who or what is behind this mx "pandemy"? Why so many parking companies use it?

@Sedo - Chris, what are your findings? The questions are clearly posted. They are important.

I already had ~20 domains blocked by Afilias and Radix...
So very probably, these MX guys still don't imagine what they do...

@tonyk2000
For Uni - ALIAS/CNAME to hostingnet.com.
And it should work...

Strange reply from Uni:
we don't have the chance to delete those MX records, because the MX records are in place to gather and analyze data from incoming spam to those servers in order to combat spam emails better going forward.

So if no understanding on Uni side - I don't recommend to park your domains there.

So basically they're running a honeypot at the expense of their clients. This is one of the most stupid things I've heard in ages.

After internal research, this is what we found out:
We recently carried out temporary testing intended to improve the security and stability of our processes.
Unfortunately, this led to conflicts in the technical configuration for a number of accounts, which have since been fixed.

Nevertheless, if you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact us and we will be happy to support you.
Please send a message to [email protected] – our Support Team will assist you as soon as possible.
Thanks again for notifying us about this issue and we appreciate your understanding.
Wishing you continued success for your domain business.

@Sedo
Thanks!
Now I see that MX was reverted to the previous localhost.

Moreover, TXT records are now "v=spf1 -all", which means that the dns is claiming "the domain does not send mail". Known anti-spoof measure. Which is what it should be. Other parking companies (not tagging here as we are in Sedo thread) should use this as a good example of a proper dns configuration! Together with disabling mx monetization of course.

I am running into the problem once again, and I am not receiving any email from Sedo regarding Offers, Counters or Sales. I reported the issue on FB, and that usually takes care of it, but it's been weeks with the same issue so I'm posting here as well.

This is not a Spam issue, but it looks like Bell/Rogers are blocking Sedo mail again at the source, as I am getting plenty of marked {SPAM] email, but Sedo is totally gone and doesn't show up anywhere.

@Sedo

I was also informed by our Tech Team that they contacted bell directly to hopefully prevent this from happening to any other customers in the future.

Hey Chris, you may want to do this again.

Hi DomainRecap,

Sorry to read that, I will contact our Tech Team and ask if they can reach out to Bell again. If you would like to change your email address with us then please email [email protected] for more instructions on how to do that.

As soon as I have an update I will let you know.

All the best
Chris

Thanks and I found another Sedo offer today (from the 16th), so hopefully this gets fixed soon and at that point I am not wasting any time and will switch to a non-Bell /Rogers email that I fully control.

Thanks for the response.

Short update -. We sent them another test mail today, but unfortunately automated mails are still bouncing. Our Tech Team has informed me they are still in contact with them, at the moment there is nothing we can do but wait for bell to unblock us.

Hopefully we can resolve this soon, we will keep you informed.
All the best
Chris

It looks like it's working again, and I have immediately switched my email over to a non-Bell/Rogers address that I have full control of, so hopefully this doesn't happen to me again - although it's open game on any other Sedo/Bell /Rogers customers.

Thanks.
