Please appraise this domain name. I think the first keyword is valuable but can someone put some light on that .ac at the end? Is it valuable?

The .ac TLD was intended to be reserved for academic institutions and not available for the public to buy. I don't know if that is still the case but I wouldn't touch one with a bargepole for investment purposes.

Car insurance is unambiguously a commercial enterprise and does not fit with .ac at all. Not even remotely.

Add those two factors up and the domain is something of a pig in a poke. I haven't done any research on it but I'm not convinced it would be worthwhile. You may be lucky enough to get the registration fee for it, unless the .ac costs more than $10 to register.

yeah, I think its got some quality for the right buyer. .ac is official country code for saiint helena, though secondary uses like education (academia) also exist. You should find out restrictions on the extension if any.
In essence, 'carinsurance' is a valuable keyword taken in over 190 extensions. Pick it before someone else does!

@Mekason this is the reason that this domain attracted me at first just because of the premium keyword but I'm having second thoughts just because of that .ac domain

Ha, yes, I think I remember reading that a while ago. Here in the UK, all universities and colleges have the domain {name}.ac.uk, definitely reserved for academia. I think also in a few other countries. But as you say, that may be misleading.

Car insurance is definitely super premium with almost any TLD. But on the downside, have you ever been to St Helena? I's a bare rock sticking up out of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Southern Africa. Very little space for people and houses, let alone roads or cars. Lots of walking up and down very steep hills. Lovely, friendly, extremely hospitable people. But little or no driving.

So I'd still try a bit of due diligence before chancing my arm with that one.

check out what car insurance is like in Saint Helena, the population of people there.... You might find an agency there willing to add some interest to your investment for the name.

good point, names must be bought when the market is feasible.
