hello everyone. I had kind of neglected this for a while. I got into it about a year ago and bought about 6 domains, only 2 of which I still think are good.
Well I had them sat around on a marketplace and somehow managed to miss fortnightly emails going back to September remind me of an offer someone made of $500 for the domain slotloot.com .

Well, I would sell for that price in a flash to guarantee my first sale and it would be a success in less than 1 year with only a handful of domains.

I sent a message to the user asking if they were still interested. I guess I have a few questions regarding the offers process and how to approach this.
Lets forget that I missed this offer for 4 months and pretend that it was offered today, fresh.

- How excited should I actually be about this? All I can see is an offer of $500 from a user with a gmail address, and also Verified User: No.
Is the verified user part important? If I see that this guy is an unverified user, does that make this offer less genuine?

- Upon accepting the offer what essential steps should I take to ensure that I take the payment securely and transfer the domain hassle free? Is there a basic guide for this?

Thanks for the help!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Are you talking about a listing at epik? Because I don't see it listed at other major marketplaces except Dan.com. Just not being a verified member yet doesn't mean the offer isn't genuine. For basic guides, I guess epik can let you know the process of a sale -- I thought they did domain holding so you wouldn't be transferring directly to a buyer if you do a transaction via epik.

But what about other marketplaces? They might have more reach to buyers. It's a nice domain and I'd guess the person would still be interested.

Don't delay accept right away. They spent the $500 next day.

sadly u will find there are tons of unpaid offers and sales

if offer made on markets like sedo and godaddy then odds are good.. for dan.. and basically all others including bodis or other email inquiry... the odds go down quickly

Hello everyone, thanks for all the help. I'll wait and see if the offer gets back to me.

In the meantime, maybe someone would be kind enough to let me know of ALL the marketplaces I, as still kind-of a beginner, should list my domains on?

Start with Afternic. This gets your domain in GoDaddy Auctions and their large Registrar Stream. After that do Sedo, DAN, Uniregistry, Epik, Daaz Biix and then depending on where your domains are regged you might have another Marketplace opportunity: Like Dynadot or Namejet ( I think).

I am still confused about the ones where your domain has to be registered to list.

Good luck!

Try to negotiate, it's not very difficult.Everyone has their own way to succeed.
